We’re
excited to bring Firefox users in the U.S. an exclusive new desktop search
experience that makes discovering the web extra easy on the eyes.
See search differently
We saw a unique opportunity to reinvent the header and bring
image and video results front and center. Now, when you search with Yahoo for
famous people and movies, you’ll see a beautiful strip of related videos and
images across the top of the page.
Connect with content
that’s most important to you
Taking a page from our redesigned Yahoo mobile search experience,
Yahoo Search in Firefox delivers the most relevant results upfront so that you
can take action right away. Now, we’ll immediately connect you to the best
results from across the web so you can:
Get the latest movie information with IMDB.
Check movie times and purchase tickets with Fandango.
Click to listen or purchase the latest music from
iTunes.
Enjoy photos and reviews from users like you from Yelp
and Trip Advisor.
Get up to speed with stats on your favorite athlete and
related videos from Yahoo Sports.
See Flickr images, including your own personal Flickr
photos when you’re signed in, when you do an image search.
Starting today, we’re rolling out this new Yahoo Search
experience to Firefox users on Windows, Mac and Linux in the U.S. Just go to the Awesome bar in
your Firefox browser and start searching. Not a Firefox user? Download the
Firefox browser, where Yahoo is your default search!
In November, we announced our partnership with Mozilla and have worked closely with their team to bring a sleeker, modern search experience to millions of Firefox users in the US.
We’re excited by the early response and are looking forward to continuing to work together with Mozilla to push the technology forward - improving the user experience on search and bringing the best of the web front and center.
If you’re using Firefox, it’s simple to make Yahoo your guide to the web:
Click on the search icon in your search bar. Then choose “Change Search Settings”.
Under “Default Search Engine” select Yahoo from the drop down menu.
We look forward to rolling out the new search experience to all browsers. To learn how to set your default search to Yahoo on any browser, please visit the Help Center.
