The body of Catherine Johannet (left and right), a tourist from Westchester County, New York, was found on a hiking trail near Red Frog Beach on Bastimentos Island Sunday, three days after the 23-year-old backpacker took off from her hostel on nearby Colon Island to go on a day trip (inset), never to return.

On Saturday, the 26-year-old musician was arrested for a DUI after he he fled police following a minor car accident in the San Fernando Valley, according to TMZ. He is the son of actor Nicolas Cage. The police chase occurred just one mile away from the accident and ended when he crashed into a tree.

Cathy Vetrano (top right) was joined by her husband Phil and dozens of relatives and friends to watch Chanel Lewis, 20, (left) be arraigned at Queens Criminal Court on Sunday night for the murder of their daughter Karina (inset) on August 2. 'Now your nightmare begins,' she screamed as Lewis was formally charged with murdering her daughter in Spring Creek Park in August. Mrs Vetrano, who has maintained an active public profile since her daughter's murder, earlier deemed him a 'savage' and a 'demon' who 'must get his justice'. Lewis's father Richard (bottom right) said he is a 'humble kid' who had 'never had a fight' in his life.

The supermodel took to Instagram on Monday posting a photo (left) of a touching moment the couple shared amidst the celebrations on field following Sunday's game. The 36-year-old had earlier filmed herself celebrating the Patriots' win from the stands and was spotted screaming and waving her hands around wildly in one of the VIP boxes at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Shortly after the celebration in the box, Gisele and their children - Jack, Benjamin and Vivian - hit the field to congratulate the star quarterback personally (right).

President Donald Trump claimed Monday that terror attacks are happening 'all over Europe' but they're not being covered by the 'very, very dishonest press.' The president did not provide any examples as he made the claim in front of troops stationed at MacDill Air Force base in Tampa, Florida. His press secretary, Sean Spicer, told reporters aboard Air Force One, 'There's a lot of instances where I don't think they've gotten the coverage it deserved.' But he could not name one, either. 'We'll provide a list later,' he asserted, indicating in the gaggle that the president may have been thinking of foiled' attacks, in addition to murderous assaults. The comments come after Kellyanne Conway (inset) invented a so-called 'Bowling Green Massacre' at the weekend.

Two black women were caught on camera on a New York subway yelling at each other about Donald Trump, black slavery and disrespecting Muslims in a fiery rant that lasted about eight minutes. The video showing the loud argument was posted online on Wednesday. One of the women, who was wearing a blue scarf, appeared to have confronted the other woman about an earlier incident on the train that was not captured on camera involving a Muslim girl.

A Delaware woman has admitted murdering her husband of 21 years by secretly lacing his steroid injections with antifreeze. Jamie Baker (pictured left), 47, had initially denied murdering her competitive weightlifter husband James D Baker II (right), 42, after he collapsed in their bedroom on September 16, 2013. But a subsequent investigation found that he had been slowly killed with ethylene glycol - a substance found in antifreeze - and on Monday morning Baker confessed her guilt in court, Delaware Online reported.

NEW A Texas high school cheerleader is accused of sharing an offensive video of herself to social media performing a chant that spells out a racial slur while in her cheer uniform. The less than 10-second video shows the unidentified young woman wearing an Amarillo High School cheerleading uniform as she spells out 'N*****' in a cheer with hand movements. The offensive racial epithet is also spelled out in a caption across the screen of the video that was first shared to social media via Snapchat. After she spells out the word in the video, the student laughs and the video ends. It's unclear where or when the video was recorded, but school officials are investigating, as the person in the video is in fact a student and a cheerleader at Amarillo High School.

The baby, Dakota, was born in early January at just 21 weeks old, and has been fighting for her life in the neonatal unit ever since. Doctors determined that Dakota was finally strong enough to be held by her parents, and the Cleveland Cavaliers hooper gushed with happiness over his first 'skin to skin' moment with his second daughter.

The three victims were identified as (left to right) Sean P. Henry, 25, Brandi El-Salhy, 24, and Kelli J. Doherty, 20. They were all gunned down inside a Jupiter home on Sunday night. Authorities were called to the property at around 10.30 last night after locals heard rounds of gunshots. Upon arrival officers found their three bodies, making it the town's worst shooting in more than seven years, police said. Neighbors revealed that Henry worked at a church called JupiterFIRST and had recently returned from a mission in Haiti.Police say they have a person of interest in custody, but their identity has not been released. Cops also said the trio were targeted in the shooting, but have not disclosed the motive.

Hundreds of mysterious structures built into the Earth more than two thousand years ago have been discovered in the Amazon rainforest. The remarkable earthworks have long remained hidden by trees - but, deforestation in recent years has unearthed more than 450 massive geoglyphs. While little is known of their purpose, it's thought that these ditched enclosures, were once used sporadically as ritual gathering places.

Rhima Coleman, 40, an assistant professor of biotechnolgy at University of Michigan, has agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct in connection to the December incident on board a Delta Air Lines flight. Coleman was videotaped by dragged off the plane by a uniformed police officer after she refused to check her bag, swipe her boarding pass and leave the plane..

A mammoth $450million (£360 million) sailing yacht was spotted leaving Nobiskrug shipyard in Germany yesterday evening to be delivered to her new owner in Spain after months of rigorous testing. The 468ft-long vessel, owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko, was an impressive sight to behold as it sailed out of the German Naval Yard in Kiel, north of Hamburg on Friday evening.

A day of gliding across a frozen lake quickly turned into a dramatic rescue mission for a group of Swedish skaters after they caught sight of a moose trapped in a sheet of ice. A shocking video has emerged of the moment the trio first notice the stricken creature thrashing wildly with its front legs sticking out of the water. In a bid to save the exhausted animal, they work tirelessly for 30 minutes chopping through a thick layer of ice with an axe to cut the creature a path to freedom. 

This is the shocking moment that a little, pink-clad girl joins her mother in beating a woman to the floor in a McDonald's restaurant - then kick her while she writhes on the ground in pain. The video, which is believed to have been recorded in Brooklyn in 2015 and has recently gone viral, shows an altercation between the mom (seen in left-hand image wearing black coat) and a woman (wearing red headscarf, tussling with mom in left-hand image) who she says touched her daughter. Though the details of what happened before the confrontation are unknown, the resulting violence - including the small child's shocking assault on the woman and the jeers of the crowd - were captured on camera. 

Kristin Livan, 35, co-founded nonprofit Unwanted NYC Pets with Betina Wassermann, 52, in 2011. The dog groomer and former optician, pictured inset, rescues homeless animals from the streets and animal shelters of New York. Livan, who lives between Brooklyn and Melbourne, Florida, takes pets, such as the dog pictured left before being treated and right after, and helps make them more appealing to potential owners.

An engineer in Ventura, California has created a machine that holds a hot dog in front of a dog to direct it. The device sits on the dog's back and rotates the hotdog in different directions with the aid of a remote control. The engineer had all the construction and tests filmed, which yielded mixed but funny results.

A space capsule was found Monday morning along Interstate 10 just outside Casa Grande between Phoenix and Tucson. The capsule was once a cement-mixer drum and created by an artist, Jack Millard, top right. It was left at the side of the highway to create curiosity for passing drivers along Interstate 10.

Brendan Wells, 22, filmed himself and his brother, Todd, took the incredible footage while paddling down rapids on the White Salmon River and Outlet Creek in Washington State. The two are seen splashing water into the air as the bright LED lights flash. Brendan, who hopes to continue filming kayaking expeditions, said: 'I paddle here with my brother on a regular basis and we have so much fun.'

A set of stunning images has captured the moment a daredevil skier traverses one of the biggest mountains in the Alps but it is nearly impossible to spot him making his way down the slopes. Extremer skier Jeremie Heitz is reduced to a tiny spec as he swoons downs Switzerland's nigh vertical Obergabelhorn mountain at around 75 mph. The 27-year-old successfully scaled the mountain that is comprised of 800m of sheer ice and at a 60 degree angle on its north face.
