'You're in good nick': Lorraine Kelly, 57, puts on a very flirty display with CBB's Calum Best, 36, as he apologises for pulling out of her show

Calum Best was forced to apologise for pulling out of an appearance on Lorraine Kelly's show last week - but the presenter seemed to be in forgiving spirits.

The 36-year-old CBB star appeared on the couch on Monday morning, the same day as his birthday, and Lorraine got a little flirty with him.

'Oooh you're in good nick for 36, aren't you?' she cooed at him.

And noting the 'Gentleman' tattoo on his hand, she said that he certainly is one in her mind.

'You are a gentleman,' she said. 'I just want you to settle down and find someone who is with you for all the right reasons.

'As your mother said, you're not going to find someone in a nightclub.'

Last week, Calum skipped two interviews following a night out with fellow evictee Jamie O'Hara.

Having spent Tuesday night celebrating with the footballer and scantily-clad dancers at London's Paper club, the model, 35, failed to show up to two TV appearances, Lorraine and Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side.

He tweeted: 'Sincerest apologies to @bbuk #bbbots and @ITVLorraine been crazy I'll since leaving the house. Will make it up [sic].'

And although she might have been slightly miffed at the last minute drop-out, Lorraine made sure her viewers knew she was on Calum's side.

Responding to one tweet, she wrote: 'I like Calum - would love to see him happy - he was a bit down in the house - don't think he was feeling well. Will find out on Monday!'

Showing her support on the show, she acknowledged that he has recently been unwell.

He agreed: 'I had a bad ear, an ear infection, while I was in the house and I ended up in the hospital when I came out.

He's sorry: It seems that Calum's health took a turn for the worse after the night out, and he was forced to miss interviews on both Lorraine Kelly and Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side

'I slept quite a while when I was on the show and everyone called me boring. I was not myself.'

He also asserted that he had no idea that his mother, Angie Best was set to join him on the famous show.

He said: 'You want to flirt but then your mum shows up. I had no idea. I'm not that good an actor. It made her better, having her around.

'She told me that it was a rare experience, getting to watch her son for 24 hours a day, and how I interact with other people.'

Calum spoke about appearing on Channel 5 show, In Therapy, and said he had received fantastic feedback.

He said: 'Mum has been saying I need it for four years. I just needed someone I was comfortable talking to.

'It's hard to trust people. I'm very well guarded and very well protected. It's all a work in progress.'
