Parents of murdered Queens jogger meet accused killer

Cathy Vetrano (center) was joined by her husband Phil and dozens of relatives and friends to watch Chanel Lewis, 20, (left) be arraigned at Queens Criminal Court on Sunday night for the murder of their daughter Karina (right) on August 2. 'Now your nightmare begins,' she screamed as Lewis was formally charged with murdering her daughter in Spring Creek Park in August. Mrs Vetrano, who has maintained an active public profile since her daughter's murder, earlier deemed him a 'savage' and a 'demon' who 'must get his justice'. Lewis's father Richard (inset) said he is a 'humble kid' who had 'never had a fight' in his life. NYPD detectives arrested Lewis, who is unemployed, at his mother's house in East New York, Brooklyn, on Saturday night after matching his DNA to traces found under Karina's fingernails. They tracked him down through a 911 call made by another Howard Beach resident reporting him acting suspiciously two months before her death. Police sources claimed he has a 'deep seated' aggression towards women and was angry that so many people were staying at his father's house when he allegedly attacked Karina.

How Lady Gaga faked her jump from stadium roof

But while TV viewers watched in amazement as the singer seemingly plummeted 260ft into the NRG Stadium from the rim, all was not as it seemed. Footage of the 'jump' was pre-recorded, with Gaga actually starting her performance suspended on a safety wire about halfway up.

Elon Musk tweets photo of his giant tunnel boring machine

Elon Musk posted the photo with the caption 'Minecraft'. When Musk first announced his plans to bore a tunnel to his SpaceX offices in California in December it appeared he was joking. He tweeted at the time: 'Traffic is driving me nuts. Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging...'. The entrepreneur has a strong track record of getting ideas off the ground. Musk has started two transportation related companies - Tesla for electric cars and SpaceX for launching into space. He has also initiated the development of Hyperloop, a proposed method of travel that would transport people at 745mph (1,200km/h) between distant locations. Excavators working for the entrepreneur have already dug a test trench at SpaceX's headquarters in Hawthorne, Los Angeles, Wired reported last week. The trench reportedly measures 30 feet (9 metres) wide, 50 feet (15 metres) long, and 15 feet (4.5 metres) deep.

Tom Brady is presented with Super Bowl MVP trophy

Brady won the Super Bowl MVP award for the fourth time after he led the New England Patriots to a thrilling 34-28 overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium in Houston. 'Tom, come on up, get your trophy,' Goodell said during the MVP news conference Monday morning after grudgingly admitting that Brady was 'maybe one of the greatest players of all time.' Neither offered to shake hands although they stood and posed for pictures together. The awkwardness between them stems from Deflategate, which resulted in Brady's four-game suspension. Brady's father later accused Goodell of a witchhunt against his son.

PIERS MORGAN: Gaga and Tom Brady show why America is great

I feared the worst about this year’s Super Bowl. The atmosphere in America right now is so toxic, this seemed the perfect global stage for all the bitter, seething division caused by the election to erupt in one huge, unedifying orgy of hatred. There were three main reasons for my concern. First, the New England Patriots are known as Donald Trump’s team due to his long-time friendships with star quarter-back Tom Brady, coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft. Brady, especially, has been roundly and viciously vilified for his association with Trump. Second, Lady Gaga.

Throughout Sunday's game, Brady's wife and brother-in-law documented their time as spectators. Five of Brady's nieces and nephews made it to Houston for the event, while his parents also attended the game. Brady and his mother Galynn, who's battling an unknown illness, had a touching moment during celebrations after the game when the quarterback's family joined him on the field. Meanwhile, Patriots coach Belichick was spotted with his girlfriend, Linda Holliday, who often stays away from the spotlight.

'Pot bellies are sexy!' Lady Gaga's fans hit back at Super Bowl bodyshamers as they celebrate her for flaunting natural figure during epic set

While she has received huge acclaim for her hits-packed set, some viewers were less focused on the performance, and more about being critical. As the star danced up a storm on stage in a crop top, some critics hit social media to mock the star's 'belly'.

The ad first aired during Super Bowl 2014, and provoked anger in some corners because it featured 'America the Beautiful' sung in different languages and a shot of gay parents.

The New England tight end was quoted Sunday as saying he wouldn't go to the White House, adding that he was not worried about what team owner Robert Kraft might think of his decision.

This is the dramatic moment a car smashes into smithereens as it collides with a road barrier at high speed - and amazingly the driver escapes unscathed.
