Cathy Vetrano (center) was joined by her husband Phil and dozens of relatives and friends to watch Chanel Lewis, 20, (left) be arraigned at Queens Criminal Court on Sunday night for the murder of their daughter Karina (right) on August 2. 'Now your nightmare begins,' she screamed as Lewis was formally charged with murdering her daughter in Spring Creek Park in August. Mrs Vetrano, who has maintained an active public profile since her daughter's murder, earlier deemed him a 'savage' and a 'demon' who 'must get his justice'. Lewis's father Richard (inset) said he is a 'humble kid' who had 'never had a fight' in his life. NYPD detectives arrested Lewis, who is unemployed, at his mother's house in East New York, Brooklyn, on Saturday night after matching his DNA to traces found under Karina's fingernails. They tracked him down through a 911 call made by another Howard Beach resident reporting him acting suspiciously two months before her death. Police sources claimed he has a 'deep seated' aggression towards women and was angry that so many people were staying at his father's house when he allegedly attacked Karina.
