A Walk To Remember stars Mandy Moore and Shane West reunite with director Adam Shankman to celebrate movie's 15th anniversary

It's a film that broke hearts young and old back in 2002.

Now Mandy Moore and Shane West, the stars of A Walk To Remember, have reunited with director Adam Shankman for dinner to celebrate the movie's 15th anniversary.

And the 32-year-old This Is Us actress shared an Instagram selfie showing them all on Sunday.

She captioned it: 'Welp. These 2 gentlemen are still some of the best around. Loved catching up with ya, @theshanewest and @adamshankman. My [heart] is full. #awalktoremember #reunion.'

Mandy and Shane, 38, played Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter in the hit, based on Nicholas Sparks' bitter sweet 1999 novel of the same name.

It's a small-town love story of two opposites meeting in high school, falling for each other, and becoming better people for it. Of course, it wouldn't be a Sparks film without a twist at the end.

Last month, Mandy tweeted to a fan that the former co-stars were 'working on' a time to catch up.

She and the Nikita star recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly to celebrate the movie's 15th anniversary.

Mandy, who was just 16 at the time, said: 'Shane was so cool. Everything about him - the way he dressed, the little cigarettes that he smoked, and the music he listened to. He was the character to me and there was definitely a part of me that absolutely fell in love with him.

'I don’t know if I could discern the difference between him and the character at that point in time because, again, it was my first experience doing anything like this and I was a 16-year-old, impressionable girl.

'I was just so caught up in the moment and the experience,' Mandy told the mag. 'I absolutely walked away from that project so convinced that there would never be a project as special as that. Shane was so wonderful.'

Shane was just as impressed with Mandy, who was a pop star at the time.

'She really grew up on that movie. We all did, but we were all in our twenties apart from her. I might have had a baby face and that’s great, but I believe I was 24,' he said.

'There was someone else — who I’m not going to say right now — whose name was batted around for Mandy's role. I remember I wasn’t keen on that idea and thankfully it didn’t happen.'

Suited up: The 38-year-old, pictured at the season three premiere of his Salem in Beverley Hills, said another actress was up for Mandy's part and he was 'thankful' when she didn't get it
