Four Perth women were abducted, raped and murdered by Australia's worst serial killer couple in the 1980s. Catherine and David Birnie (top and bottom right) were only caught when their fifth victim, Kate Moir (main left and inset), escaped from the sadistic killers' home in south-west Perth in 1986. Ms Moir was just 17 when she was kidnapped, shackled to a bed in chains and repeatedly raped after the 'very drunk' teenager accepted a lift home from the killers after a night out with friends. Ms Moir, now 47, has revealed the harrowing details of her ordeal in her first television interview.

Fears are growing for a missing lifeguard who is said to have vanished after discovering she was having her ex-boyfriend's baby. Celeste Smith, 19, was last seen at a friend's house in Plymouth on Tuesday night - a day after finding out she was pregnant. The teenager, who lives in Saltash in Cornwall, said she was going home to have a bath but never made it back to the family home. It has since emerged Celeste was due to meet the father of her child and attend a meeting about the pregnancy on Wednesday - but failed to show for both.

Mark McLelland woke up on what he thought was Monday morning after a night of drinking - and, feeling worse for wear, decided to pull a sickie. But the Glasgow-based worker's boss, known as Greig, showed little sympathy and dismissed his excuse - on a Sunday - as the 'worst he'd ever heard'. Mr McLelland tweeted a screenshot of the conversation, saying: 'When you wake up thinking it's Monday morning and text your gaffer wanting a day off.' A mammoth $450million (£313million) sailing yacht was spotted pulling into Nobiskrug shipyard in Germany yesterday evening to be delivered to her new owner after months of rigorous testing. The 468ft-long vessel, owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko, was an impressive sight to behold as it sailed into the German Naval Yard in Kiel, north of Hamburg on Friday evening. The impressive superyacht, which was has three 300ft masts standing  taller than Big Ben's tower, was imaginatively named 'Sailing Yacht A' by its owner. Mr Melnichenko hit the headlines back in September when he moored his other £225 million masterpiece, 'Motor Yacht A', on the Thames.

At 18 weeks doctors noticed baby Omara had an aggressive tumour growing around her neck. Lindsey continued on with her pregnancy in hopes it would be operable later. Weeks later, the baby's tumor had doubled in size and began to spread even further into her chest and Omara had a 99 per cent chance of dying. The couple decided to go through with an abortion through lethal injection.

A dog owner has named a new puppy after a character from Shrek after her chocolate Labrador gave birth to a green puppy. Two-year-old mother Milly had four male puppies and one girl during her first litter (shown right). But gender wasn't the only difference that marked the female puppy from her brothers because she emerged not golden like the others - but green. The green tinge (pictured left) is down to over exposure to a substance called biliverdin, which can be found in the placenta. It's a rare condition and owner Elaine Cooper believes their pup - could be just the third case in the world. Elaine and husband Mark have now nicknamed the pup Fifi after the famous green ogre Princess Fiona from Shrek.

If you had a family photograph taken how many people would be present? Well, for one supersize family in China, 500 relatives turned up for their photo session, requiring a drone to fly back from a distance in a bid to get the full clan in the frame. Apparently it took more two years for the Ren family to coordinate the impressive stunt, which took place close to their ancestral town in the Zhejiang province.

Fiona the six-week-premature baby hippo took her first steps Sunday morning. Thousands of people have shared her photos and videos of the zookeepers nursing her to health. Yesterday the hippo seemed tuckered out in a precious photo of Fiona napping on a zookeeper's chest.
