After the Super Bowl came to a close following the Falcons blowing a 25-point lead to the Patriots, online trolls used memes to poke fun at Atlanta's epic choke.

New England astoundingly recovered from a massive deficit to beat Atlanta 34-28 during overtime in what will be remembered as the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history.

Social media exploded with memes teasing the choke, comparing the team's loss to Game of Throne's character King Joffrey who choked and died during what was supposed to be his shining moment.

The defeat comes as heartbreak to Atlanta supporters, as the underdog team seemed sure to take home a championship ring as they led the game until the third quarter.  

Tom Brady, the Patriot's quarterback, was immediately dubbed as the greatest of all time as he became the only player with five Super Bowl rings and to win MVP for the fourth time.

Other funny quips drew similarity to Hillary Clinton losing the presidency in November, remarking how both camps 'won the popular vote' but still ended up in defeat.
