Getting close! Kate Mara plants a kiss on fiance Jamie Bell's young son as they bond on a trip to get ice cream

Kate Mara and boyfriend Jamie Bell are smitten, revealing their engagement earlier this month.

And it looks like Jamie isn't the only one who's falling for Miss Mara.

On Saturday, the couple were spotted out with Jamie's three-year-old son, who seemed to be having a great day as he rode his bike and enjoyed ice cream with his future stepmother.

For her part Kate, 33, looked like she was in her element with the three-year-old, who she doted on throughout the trip.

During the swing around town, the House Of Cards actress sported casual attire, seen wearing a light colored knit with relaxed black slacks.

Her husband-to-be Jamie was similarly casual during the outing, wearing a black zip-up and an Under Armour hat.

During the trip, Kate fetched some ice cream to share with her small companion.

The couple looked after the little guy as he enjoyed his bike with the protection of a flaming helmet.

After his ride, The Martian actress carried the three-year-old while hitting the pavement in a pair of funky zig-zag slip ons.

She held him close and gave the toddler a kiss on the cheek as she and her BAFTA-award winning partner escorted the boy back to the car following their morning adventure.

Kate and Jamie have been dating since 2015 after the actors met on the set of the Fantastic Four where they played superheroes The Invisible Woman and The Thing.

The pair's engagement was confirmed after the American Horror Story: Murder House actress was spotted rocking a sizable engagement ring earlier this month.

Jamie's son is from his previous pairing with star Evan Rachel Wood, who he remains on good terms with.

The two have kept their son's name private.
