A young man completely freaks out as he is filmed going on a wild roller coaster ride in his first virtual reality experience.

An amused crowd gathered at a mall in Jacksonville, Florida, as they watched brave first-timer Elijah hilariously try out a VR headset.

The video shows him clutching the moving platform's guard rails and tensing up in fear as the life-like simulator is almost too much for him to bear.

Elijah begins the virtual reality game tensed up and clutching the rails on a raised platform as his buddies tease their clearly terrified friend.

He quickly turns frantic as the game and platform pick up in intensity and the ground shifts underneath Elijah's feet.

He loses balance and falls, desperately clinging to the rails as the game simulates a speeding and curving roller coaster ride.

His friends laugh and tell him he better have his eyes open and to hold on tightly.

The clip was filmed by Elijah's friend Jeremy Ollar, 21, who said Elijah wasn't used to the newer technology.

He said: 'While on the VR ride Elijah got scared and freaked out because he isn't used to virtual reality.

'He had never experienced it before. It's funny and everyone laughs at it. It's something that you want to show to your friends.
