There’s a Kate Middleton themed café in Australia
Alright, everyone get out your ‘places I’d like to visit to eat delicious food’ lists. We have an important addition.
Over in Melbourne, Australia, a new café serving up waffles, eggs, and all manner of brunch-y deliciousness has just opened to the public.

As with most new restaurant openings, there’s a gimmick. But in the gimmicky scale of gimmicks, we don’t mind it.
Middletown Café is a café inspired by Kate Middleton, AKA Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
It’s called Middletown as a play on Kate’s name, and every detail has been picked as an homage to Kate’s elegance and style.
The decor is all navy (ever noticed that Kate loves navy? She wears it loads), white, and marble. The tiles are placed in a pattern to look like those in Westminster Abbey, where Wills and Kate tied the knot. There are illustrations of Kate’s trench coat and sapphire engagement ring on the walls.
Thankfully, there are no giant portraits of Kate’s face. Because that would be weird.
The food is all suitably posh and delightful, with a healthy menu of granola, eggs, waffles, coffee, and more snazzy brunch bits.
We don’t know if Kate Middleton would like the food, as she’s never actually visited the café.
But we reckon she’s probably a brunch fan. Who isn’t?
Regardless, if we ever visit we’ll happily eat waffles and pretend we’re eating breakfast just as Kate would.
Middletown’s owner, Randy Dhamanhuri, told People that Kate was the muse for the café thanks to her ‘timeless beauty and class’.
‘People first come because they hear about a Kate Middleton-inspired cafe, but once we share our vision and story behind it, they actually appreciate it,’ he said, describing a visit from Kate as ‘the dream’.
Kate, if you’d like to head over and try out a café inspired by yourself, please do let us know and we’ll join you. Mostly for the waffles.
