Priyanka Chopra stepped out in New York City with a friend on Thursday night, slipping into a stylish black cocktail dress.

Cut off at the knee, the outfit featured a V-neck that offered a generous view of the 34-year-old actress' cleavage.

Letting her voluminous hair tumble freely over her shoulders, she'd flung a black overcoat over a black leather jacket and slipped into matching stilettos.

The Jamshedpur native, who last December was named a Global Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef, got topical on her LinkedIn blog Thursday.

'The anger, frustration and helplessness that has followed US State Department’s 90-day ban of people from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen from entering the US,' she wrote, 'is justified.'

Having said 'The US, has always acknowledged that it is a country built by immigrants,' she offered: 'As a global citizen, this has deeply affected me.'

She went on to note that 'All of the "banned" countries are places where a lot of UNICEF work is going on, where children are suffering the most.'

Though she wondered: 'What can I add that people across professions and age groups have not already said?' she averred that 'adding your voice will definitely make a difference.'

She closed out by exhorting readers to 'join me in making our voice stronger so that globally, our children are not discriminated against on the basis of their religion and do not have to bear the brunt of a political witch hunt.'

Glamour ran an interview with her this week in which she insisted feminism's ''completely not mutually exclusive at all for how you want to look, how you take care of yourself, how you want to be, what you want to look like.'

Said she: 'The fact that a woman has a choice to be how she wants, to do how she wants, without a guy to think, "because she’s pretty or because she’s in a dress, she’s asking for it or she wants it."'

In her words, 'Just like guys who buy their fancy cars and toys, women like to do it too, but that has nothing to do with our feminist point of view.'
