Jaguar Land Rover has reportedly had engines, with an estimated value of 3 million pounds ($4.9m), snatched from its Solihull factory near Birmingham.
According to reports in the Birmingham Mail, the alleged robbers drove a stolen semi-trailer on to the premises and hooked up a trailer and simply drove away on the night of Tuesday the 31st.
Reports also allege that the truck entered through a manned security gate and was filmed in full view of security cameras.
The trailer was believed to have been unloaded in the Coventry area.
However, the same truck is alleged to have returned to the scene and departed with another trailer full of engines the same night, with each theft taking about six minutes according to reports.
Police have since found the two empty trailers but no arrests have been made.
No information has been provided on which engines were stolen, however Jaguar produce a wide range of engines from its smaller, efficient four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines all the way up to the SVR-powering 5.0-litre supercharged V8.
