So Peter Barlow is set to receive an extra shock when Toyah's estranged husband Toby Chapman gets into his taxi in scenes due to air on Coronation Street this week.

With their affair already hanging in the balance, will Toby's appearance push them over the edge if he realises Peter is the man Toyah left him for?

Shots from the upcoming scenes see Peter looking gob-smacked as his flame's ex husband gets into the back seat.

Hoping to impress his new boss after recently starting the job as a local cabbie which will finally provide much-needed funds for son Simon, Peter's nerves are tested when he sees his love rival.

And his appearance couldn't come at a worse time, as his relationship with Toyah is already hanging by a thread.

Toyah is devastated after Peter tells her he doesn't want any more children.

'She is devastated,' revealed actress Georgia Taylor, who plays her to The Sun.

'All of a sudden, she has the choice of: 'Does she stay with this man she loves and give up her dream of having children, or does she give up on Peter instead?'

To make it worse husband Toby has tracked her down to inform her the fertility clinic want to know what to do with their frozen embryos, begging her for another chance.

'Toyah's in a huge dilemma,'Georgia added, 'because Toby is offering her everything she wants and Peter isn't, but Peter is the one she loves.'

Who will she pick? And will Toby discover the truth about her affair?
