Their beaming appearance comes after it was reported their dad is reportedly fighting for his life - but insisted his 'critical condition' be kept a secret from the twins while they were on Celebrity Big Brother.

John Grimes is said to be suffering from a mystery illness which he hid from his 25-year-old sons - who came second in the final - so that they wouldn't leave the Channel 5 show.

The twins' mum and manager Susanna Condron told the Daily Star that if the singers left early there would have been 'legions of disappointed fans'.

'The last week has been very stressful for Jedward's family,' she told the publication.

'John Snr has been in intensive care. He insisted Edward and John must not be informed about his critical condition.'

Susanna added: 'He stated he would not jeopardise their chances of reaching the final as there would have been legions of disappointed fans.'

It comes as Jedward came second to presenter Coleen Nolan in a shocking CBB final on Friday night.

Jedward seemed jubilant about being runners-up, telling Emma in their exit interview: 'We're so happy to make second, Coleen is a worthy winner.

'Last time we came third, so this is a personal best, Coleen is such a legend and she needs this in her life right now. I can't wait for the book 'I've Lived With Jedward'.

'Our last series all the housemates embraced us, and this time it was like the housemates - and then us.'

Tense times: The twins clasped hands with Coleen as they prepared to hear their fate during the Celebrity Big Brother final on Friday night

Emotional: The former Loose Women panellist, 51, beat Jedward and fiery clean queen Kim Woodburn in the tense final three

Getting increasingly more excited, they added: 'It was J-epic, it was J-exy, it was J-awesome.'

Speaking about the divide in the house, the Irish singers added: 'Everyone had already formed a bond. Everyone had links outside the Big Brother house.

'I was always there for these housemates, I had a million conversations with them. Anyway we were very innocent last time, and this time we were bad a** rockstars.'

Typically Jedward: The twins pulled their signature scene-stealing poses as they descended the stairs

Discussing Nicola McLean, they said: 'The thing about Nicola is, we always give her compliments. We're always ourselves. I don't know what the edit is. Bring back the 24 hour link!'

'I don't think I could handle you boys for three months!' Host Emma Willis joked, before adding: 'I love you boys'.

Meanwhile, Jedward's mum has been fervently Tweeting during the boys' time in the CBB house - and blasted Coleen Nolan's behaviour in one post.

In response to a fan questioning Coleen's negative comments about the twins, Susanna penned: 'Tell me when you find even one reason [why].'

Controversial: The boys state of their time on the show: 'This experience has brought us closer…we've learnt so much…this experience is something we'll never forget!'

Scathing: The manager even took a swipe at housemate Jamie O'Hara - who previously clashed with Jedward - as she posted 'karma' after Jamie took offence to being called a 'washed up footballer'

'Fans you are not to be upset, Jedward know that you all support them even when facing opposition. Character is a journey, not a destination.'
