They celebrated their eight year wedding anniversary two months ago.

And on Saturday, Nicole Richie and her husband Joel Madden were every bit the happy couple as they lovingly held hands during a spot of shopping in Sherman Oaks with their two children, Harlow, nine, and Sparrow, seven.

Nicole, 35, looked positively content as she smiled while leaving the store, with her husband, 37, by her side.

Nicole wrapped up in a long grey scarf and chic black coat as she scraped her locks back into a neat little bun.

She kept things casual in black trousers and a matching pair of sneakers.

Joel, meanwhile, sported a black windbreaker vest, T-shirt, slouchy jeans, trainers, and a hat.

Harlow kept things fun as she wore a platinum blonde wig and a pair of animal print boots.

Nicole and Joel married in December 2010, two years after welcoming Harlow and a year after the birth of their son.
