Chinna Veedu (Literal English translation: Small House; Colloquial meaning: "Keep") is a 1985 Tamil film written and directed by K. Bhagyaraj. This film was Commercially Successful.
The movie is the debut in Tamil for lead female Kalpana who is also sister of actress Urvashi who made her debut with K. Bhagyaraj in 1983 Mundhanai Mudichu film.
Madanagopal is a bachelor who has great dreams about his future wife. He imagines a girl to be his dream girl who has all sorts of beauty right from head to foot. But his parents arrange marriage with a girl Bhagyalakshmi without his consent. Gopal shocks on seeing the photograph of his future wife as she is a fat, ugly and uncultured and not even near to his expectations of his dream girl according to him. On the day of marriage he runs away from the marriage hall and because of which marriage stops. Gopal parents find him and make him to marry her as their daughter needs to marry the brother of bride.

Veedu (English: House) is a 1988 Tamil film directed by Balu Mahendra. Starring Archana as the central character, it depicts the difficulties faced by a middle-class family in building a house. Apart from directing, Balu Mahendra wrote the script, photographed and did the editing as well. The film score by Ilaiyaraaja earned critical acclaim. At the 35th National Film Awards, the film received two awards including one for the Best Tamil Film. He started Art direction together with his guru B Anand Sai (son of senior art director B.Chellam). His first movie was as Assistant Art Director for the Tamil movie ‘Roja Malare’ starring Murali. Next was‘Santosham’ followed by ‘Enasare Asave’ and so on.
Then Shifted to Hyderabad for ‘Tholiprema’. Again together with his guru Anand Sai, he did Telugu movies like ‘Tholiprema’, ‘Thamudu’, ‘Badri’, ‘Kushi’ and ‘Prematho ra’. While this was happening he met great producers like Burugupalli Sivarama Krishna, T. Trivikrama Rao and with their encouragement he became Art director in their movies. ‘Kalisi Nadudham’(Telugu) was my first movie as Art director. He also worked with his senior classmate Murthy Sreeram’s movie ‘Vechi Vunta’. This was actually my first movie but it got released as my second movie.
