Clubber dies after collapsing and being given CPR in front of shocked onlookers ‘after a fight at a Gloucestershire nightclub’

  • Police were called to the scene around 2am and paramedics performed CPR
  • Clubbers were locked inside for hours as police took details from them

A man has died after a fight in a nightclub in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to Warehouse in Stroud, Gloucestershire at around 2am after reports of an incident at the club.

Paramedics who attended the scene gave the man CPR in the lobby of the club but it is understood paramedics were unable to save his life.

Police have not yet released any details of the incident. An investigation has been launched and police cars are outside the club this morning.

Eyewitnesses at the scene said a fight between two men broke out on the top floor of the club.

Clubbers were locked inside for hours while police at the doors took details from everyone.

Single-file queues to leave the club were over an hour a half long. Some weren't able to leave until after 4am. 

Bouncers and police officers blocked off all exits from the building after the incident.  

Music was shut down while the DJ gave instructions to those left inside.

The age of the dead man is yet to be confirmed.
