Ali ibn Abi Talib (/ˈɑːli, ɑːˈliː/;Arabic: علي بن أبي طالب, translit. ʿAlī bin Abī Ṭālib, Arabic pronunciation: [ʕaliː bɪn ʔabiː t̪ˤaːlɪb]; 13 Rajab, 21 BH – 21 Ramadan, 40 AH; 15 September 601 – 29 January 661) was the cousin and son-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, ruling over the Islamic caliphate from 656 to 661.
Born to Abu Talib and Fatima bint Asad, Ali was the only person born in the sacred sanctuary of the Kaaba in Mecca, the holiest place in Islam, as many sources, especially Shia ones say. Ali was the first young male who accepted Islam. After migrating to Medina, he married Muhammad's daughter Fatimah. Ali took part in the early caravan raids from Mecca and later in almost all the battles fought by the nascent Muslim community. He was appointed caliph by Muhammad's Companions (Sahaba) in 656, after caliph Uthman ibn Affan was assassinated. Ali's reign saw civil unrest and in 661, he was attacked and assassinated by a Kharijite while praying in the Great Mosque of Kufa, dying two days later.
Amir Husain Al-Kurdi, (أمیر حسین الکوردي), named the Mirocem or Mir-Hocem by the Portuguese, was a governor of the city of Jeddah in the Red Sea, then part of the Egyptian Mamluk Sultanate, in early 16th century. He stood out as admiral of the Mamluk fleet fought by the forces of the Portuguese Empire in the Indian Ocean. Shortly after the arrival of the Portuguese to the Indian sea, Mirocem was sent by the last Mamluk Sultan, Al-Ashraf Qansuh al-Ghawri, to defend his interests in the sea, including the defense of the fleets of Muslim pilgrims to Mecca, then part of the sultanate.
In 1508, he joined Meliqueaz, an admiral from Gujarat, as leader of the Mamluk fleet at the battle of Chaul, where they faced and defeated the fleet of Lourenço de Almeida, son of the Portuguese viceroy of India, D. Francisco de Almeida. Following this battle, he was fiercely fought by the viceroy himself, who in 1509 invested and won the Battle of Diu seeking Mirocem to avenge the death of his son and free the Portuguese prisoners made at Chaul in 1508.
Yā Hussain (Arabic: يا حسين) is an Arabic phrase used by Shia Muslims to invoke the memory or intervention of Hussain ibn Ali. It is especially used in the context of the Mourning of Muharram.
The British in colonial India heard Muslims chanting "Yā Hussain! Yā Hassan!" (a reference to Hasan ibn Ali, brother of Hussain) during the Mourning of Muharram, and approximated it as "Hobson-Jobson", which became a term referring to the similar derivation of an English equivalent for a foreign-language words by adapting English words or names that have a superficial resemblance in sound.
Nasir Abbas was once one of the most wanted Pakistani jihadists in South East Asia. He was a member of al-Qaeda's regional affiliate, Jemaah Islamiya (JI).
According to Indonesia's top anti-terrorist police officer, General Ansyaad Mbai, Abbas was a very dangerous man and one of the key figures in the JI.
In a BBC interview, Abbas explained his philosophy of jihad. Abbas stated that he believes it is acceptable to fight and kill foreign forces occupying Muslim countries. He gives as examples the Soviets in Afghanistan, the Americans in Iraq and the Philippine army occupying what he describes as ancestral Muslim lands in Mindanao. According to Abbas, the killing of innocent civilians - men, women and children - is forbidden.
Abbas uses his position to criticize the modern violent jihad philosophy, outlined by Palestinian Abdullah Azzam, acknowledged to be the "father" of modern violent jihad. He stated in his interview the 202 civilian deaths in the 2002 Bali bombings gave him pause. Abbas actively assisted the police in tracking down and arresting some of his former comrades. He explains that from that point on, he tried to persuade his former comrades that their interpretation of the Quran was wrong, and urged them to "return to the right path of Islamic teaching".
Abbas may refer:
Abbas is Medieval Latin for "abbot", and is an element in a number of place names in England. Abbas is a common Islamic name, and is an element in a number of place names in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

You make me sick
I'll tear out those diamond eyes I can't bear to see
Crimson spills on paper skin
They call this tragedy
Remembering the nights when you'd whisper to me soft, "forever more my heart is yours"
Realize those words have died
As the life fades from your eyes
All that I can say is it may not be too late
Try again, make it perfect, make me worth it
Or else die for all I care
If I can not be loved then none shall be
Think of this as I softly kiss your blood glazed lips once more
On this night this thing you call love dies
Your face disgusts me, smile and bear your lies
This broken trust will become your demise
As the life fades from your eyes
All that I can say is it may not be too late
Try again, make it perfect, make me worth it
Or else die for all I care
After today silence will haunt you
Expect no forgiveness for your life will end tonight
Now I grit my teeth and finish what I know must be done
To kill the memory of you... and you said this would be forever
As the life fades from your eyes
All that I can say is it may not be too late
Try again, make it perfect, make me worth it
