SWISS MAD
Niche manufacturer H.Moser & Cie claims this striking version of its Venturer model is not so much Swiss made as Swiss mad, thanks to its obvious colour references to the Swiss national emblem and a strap made from the country’s favoured animal, the cow. Limited to just 50 examples, it’s the Swiss watchmaker’s way of drawing attention to new rules governing the display of “Swiss made” on watches, rules the brand believes are too weak. Accordingly, Moser has removed any such wording from its watchfaces, preferring to describe them as totally produced in Switzerland or “100% Swiss”. This includes the hand-wound movement, cased here in white gold. The latter helps explain the $34,100 price. Bani McSpedden
