Elena sported a furry hat and black and white patterned dress teamed with patent black shoes, while her daughter sported patterned socks and brown lace up shoes.

Helena has been busy filming Ocean's Eight in the city, bringing her mother over for company.

In fact, the actress has brought her mother to stay with her for a while in the Big Apple.

Two's company: Elena wore a furry hat and black and white patterned dress teamed with patent black shoes, while her daughter sported patterned socks and brown lace up shoes

And Mother and daughter have been enjoying the city's sights, soaking up the scenery in another stroll together earlier this week.

Elena - a French-Spanish psychotherapist - has been a regular red carpet fixture over Helena's 30-year career and remains very close to her daughter.

During an acceptance speech for the Best Supporting Actress BAFTA in 2011, Helena dedicated The King’s Speech accolade - for which she played the Queen Mother - to her own mother.

Regular companions: Helena and her mum were spotted out together earlier this week enjoying another stroll

She gushed: ‘This is for all the best supporting wives — the Queen Mother herself, and my mum.

'There is no doubt that if my father were alive, he would have given it to her. She was the best supporting wife you could ever have wished for.’

Helena's father, Raymond Bonham Carter, was a merchant banker who represented the Bank of England on the International Monetary Fund but sadly passed away from stroke in 1979.

Helena has two children with former partner director Tim Burton.

Fast friends: Helena regularly takes her mother to red carpet events, with the pair pictured at the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
