Text of the anarchist Spiros Mandilas about the Anarchist Squat Nadir (Greece)

Sunday, March 2nd, 2014

Lately, various interior matters taking place in Anarchist Squat Nadir, have been published, because of two or three people, thought they should publish a misinformative text of breakaway, in order to justify their cowardice or their failure.

Therefore, since a matter has been published, I owe too, to explain in public what has happened. Especially, since through this text, they accuse me of their breakaway.

Those people, after alienating some comrades from the squat, with their manners and their behavior, they tried to distort the political characteristics of Nadir. So, they started talking about communism, nechayevism, democratic fights, and generally, some things far from the political analysis and nature of the Nadir squat. Recently, those two or three people, even tried to isolate me from the convention’s decisions. (more…)

Greece: Communiqué by Athens IMC administration assembly, 18.4.2013

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013

via contra-info:

We continue to respond in a political manner to the political decision toward censorship that all of the minions of Capital and totalitarianism undertook silently

On Thursday noon, April 11th, 2013 the rector of the National Technical University of Athens (Athens Polytechnic School), Simos Simopoulos, took the political decision to repress counter-information media by cutting off network access to Athens IMC (athens.indymedia.org) and 98FM self-organized radio station (Radiozones of Subversive Expression). He thus undertook the political responsibility to impose censorship and stifle the expression and free movement of ideas of all those who resist the contemporary fascistization and social impoverishment. Simopoulos—being the second Rector of Repression after Markatos, 18 years ago—decided to be the one to intervene in place of the state power, and what’s more, he undertook the role of mouthpiece facilitating the work of the Repression minister Dendias, the cops and the Nazis. Solidarity to Athens IMC and 98FM (Greece)

Friday, April 26th, 2013

The Greek regime’s attempt to silence the Athens Indymedia website and 98FM is yet another repressive attack against self-organised infrastructure that challenges the existent order. It’s no secret that democracy will use dictatorial solutions when confronted by the subversive libertarian forces.

Solidarity and complicity with Athens IMC, 98FM and all those spaces and individuals in Greece which refuse to just shut up and accept the dominant discourse of mainstream bullshit and corporate hype.

Athens IMC and 98FM radio station are under repression by the State (Greece)

Wednesday, April 17th, 2013

EXTERNALITY AND OBJECTIVITY

10/04/2013 – The Deanery of NTUA (National Technical University of Athens) loses the trial against EETT’s (Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission) lawsuit related to past broadcasting of Radiozones at 98.1 from the NTUA premises, as well as about the broadcasts of “Radio Entassi” that occasionally emits from an adjoining terrace near the frequency of the mainstream radio station “SKAI”. It’s another procedural repression attempt that is added to precedent persecutions against Athens Indymedia and Radiozones of Subversive Expression.

11/04/2013 – The Dean takes the initiative to cut the power supply to “Radio Entassi”. At the same time, the internet connection for both Athens Indymedia and Radiozones of Subversive Expression is interrupted despite the fact that Radiozones broadcast at 93.8 a frequency totally separated to the case file. How the lost court case on radio emissions has developed into the silencing of all online counter information media based on the NTUA campus remains unknown. (more…)

Greece: Call for international solidarity with Indymedia Athens and Radiozones of Subversive Expression 98FM

Sunday, April 14th, 2013

via contrainfo:

Since the 11th of April, Athens IMC and 98FM radio station are under repression by the State. In particular, the rector of Athens Polytechnic School, Simos Simopoulos, unplugged their internet connectivity, thus disabling access to servers hosted in university premises. While the authorities insist upon this gagging, the self-organized projects of Athens IMC and 98fm radio station claim their political right to transmit freely through the Polytechnic campus.

In a large assembly on Saturday 13/4 in Athens, both collectives informed people of latest developments, and it was decided to call for a week of nationwide and international actions of solidarity with Athens IMC and 98FM radio station, from the 15th to the 21st of April 2013.

Also, in Athens, a protest gathering was scheduled for Monday 15/4 by 9am at the central square of Zografou campus.

Spread this message to anyone willing to act in defense of antagonist infrastructure and freedom of expression. This is a political attack and will be answered accordingly.

Athens: Anarchists Dimitris Politis and Yannis Michailidis arrested (Greece)

Sunday, February 3rd, 2013

From Contra Info:

According to a report on Indymedia Athens, comrades Yannis Michailidis and Dimitris Politis were arrested by police along with two other persons.

Arrest warrants had been issued against both comrades for alleged participation in the anarchist revolutionary organization Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

The arrests were made in the morning of February 1st, 2013, and now the cops attempt to link the arrestees to two armed bank robberies in the wider area of Kozani (northern Greece).

All four hostages were severely beaten by the cops. In a corporate video from the courthouse in Kozani, comrades are heard shouting:

“Long live anarchy! Long live anarchy, you scumbags!”

“Long live anarchy! Cops, judges, politicians, you have no reason to sleep calm. We lost a battle but not the war! – Fuck off!”

Strength to the comrades that were kidnapped by the State!

Announcement of Athens IMC collective, 22.12.2012 (Greece)

Sunday, December 23rd, 2012

via contrainfo:

On Thursday, December 20th, 2012 Nikos Stavrakakis, president of the POSDEP (the so-called Pan-Hellenic Federation of University Professors–Researchers’ Associations), made sobbing statements about the occurrence of violence inside Greece’s faculties, asking the State to wipe away any occupied space in universities but also to get rid of Indymedia Athens. These statements were made under the pretext of two incidents at the National Technical University of Athens (Metsovio) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Aristotelio), incidents which are not connected with each other and have obviously no relation whatsoever with the administration crew of Athens IMC.
