Kym Marsh flaunts her cleavage in a VERY plunging black dress as she attends charity dinner with Corrie on-screen husband Simon Gregson

They recently filmed harrowing stillbirth scenes as husband and wife duo Michelle Connor and Steve McDonald for Coronation Street.

But Kym Marsh and Simon Gregson brushed aside their onscreen heartache as they joined forces on Saturday night to attend the Escape charity dinner in Manchester. 

Former Hear'Say singer Kym, 40, stole the show in a plunging flirty black dress as she arrived with her daughter and son, while Simon, 42, brought along his wife of 17 years Emma.

Kym looked typically chic in the opulent dress, which accentuated her trim waist thanks to a bow belt and a 50s-inspired full-skirted silhouette.

Injecting a dose of colour to the look, she added a pair of scarlet patent stilettos and carried a black chain-trim clutch.

Styling her brown tresses in polished retro waves, the mother-of-four framed her eyes with a smokey bronze eyeshadow.  

Clearly excited to attend the dinner for Escape - a charity that aims to support child abuse victims  - Kym Tweeted: 'Off to @Escape_Charity with my babies @EmilieCunliffe and @david_cunliffe3 and my pops @Davestheman113 and our @mikeylad123'.

Their appearance comes after Kym's character Michelle suffered the harrowing loss of her son, leaving her isolated by her pain. 

And their tear-jerking performances on the long-running soap prompted countless fans to take to Twitter in droves to heap praise on the stars for their efforts - particularly as they've both gone through the horrific experience in real life.

Addressing the co-stars directly, one moved viewer wrote: 'What brilliant actors. Such a personal experience for both involved and still done with such pride.'

Corrie's moving storyline comes as co-star Simon revealed he felt 'completely helpless' when his real-life wife Emma tragically suffered 11 miscarriages. 

The Coronation Street star admitted he felt powerless each time his real-life wife suffered. 

He told The Mirror: 'As a bloke, being there and witness to all this, you feel completely helpless.' 

Discussing the work that went into filming the emotional scenes for the ITV soap, Simon added: 'They're real emotions that have been brought back up'.

The scenes were just as traumatic for Kym, who herself sadly suffered a miscarriage eight years ago. 

Speaking about watching back the scenes, the former singer revealed that her mother had also been a victim as she explained: 'We sat there together and watched the episodes.' 

Kym suffered a miscarriage in 2009 and has bravely discussed the incident since.
