Crime scene established after body found in Wollongong creek

 A body has been found in Wollongong's northern suburbs on Sunday morning, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Collins Street and Willow Grove in Corrimal, about 9.45am.

"Police from Wollongong Local Area Command have established a crime scene, which is going to be examined by forensic experts," a NSW Police spokesman said.

The body, believed to be that of a male, was found in a creek. 

The spokesman was unable to say if the death was being treated as suspicious, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
