It's a struggle all breastfeeding mamas will be all too familliar with: go too long without feeding or expressing and OUCH. Those engorged boobs might look good - hello cleavage! - but they can be pretty painful too.
Stopping by The Ellen DeGeneres show last week, actress and mum Kirsten Bell shared her own painful-booby story - and how she suffered all in the name of her art.
Starring as a "trashy ex-trophy wife" in the film CHiPS, which is written and directed by her husband, Dax Shepherd, Bell chose not to pump her milk for 24 hours so her breasts looked bigger for the role.
"I was supposed to be pumping every four hours," Bell said, describing it as "mildly painful" but "worth it".
Worried there might be a "medical issue", Shepherd told his wife she should "let some steam off".
Bell, however, knew better than to seek sweet relief too soon.
"You can't," she said. "You open the floodgates and that's a wrap. Everything's wet."
Of her transformation, the mother-of-two added, "This was my version of Christian Bale losing 125 pounds or something."
"She looked like Pamela Anderson at the end," Shepherd said, who also appeared on Ellen to promote the pair's upcoming project.
"Which I think was the goal. The things we do."
