Goodnight!

Thanks for your company over the past couple of days. I did find time to do a Set Of Six so you can get my thoughts on the future of the Nines there. Stupid Saturday will be back on March 4. See ya!

Fulltime in the 2017 NRL Nines final at Eden Park: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 10 PENRITH 8

Malakai Watene-Zelezniak sneaks over in the left corner for the Panthers' first try. The conversion attempt is just too hard. Sydney Roosters 10-4. The Roosters looked to have sealed it but the ball was lost over the line. Who do you think was the original "Johnny On The Spot"? Have to look that up. Nathan Cleary scores a wonderful individual try from halfway, looking left and right and slicing through. The conversion attempt misses. Sydney Roosters 10-8.

Halftime in 2017 NRL Nines final: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 10 PENRITH 0

It's Penrith and Sydney Roosters. Penrith have 10 players who have not played NRL. The Roosters go close early. Daniel Tupou gets his fifth try of the tournament. He had just come on from the interchange bench. Latrell Mitchell converts. Sydney Roosters 6 Penrith 0. Now the semi-final match winner Bernard Lewis scores just inside the corner post. Sydney Roosters 10-0

Mitch Aubusson's kick holds up and a drop-out is forced.

All is in readiness now for the final.

Women's Nine-a-side international: AUSTRALIA 14 NEW ZEALAND 4

Australia leads the dead rubber third international 10-0 at halftime. Chelsea Baker has posted a total of four tries in the series. The Kiwi Ferns managed a try with four minutes remaining. Australia took out the series 3-0. Back to top

Fulltime in semi-final two: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 21 MELBOURNE 16

Daniel Tupou posts his second. Fantastic pass from Latrell Mitchell. Mitchell cant convert. Sydney Roosters 15-7. A long break from Felise Kaufusi hands Young Tonomaipea yet another touchdown. Sydney Roosters 15-11. Mark Nichols is a less likely try-scoring machine but he gets another too. Brody Croft misses with his conversion attempt and it's Melbourne 16-15. Connor Watson sends Bernard Lewis on an 80 metre run from the restart to clinch the game and a place in the final. Sydney Roosters 19-16.

Halftime in semi-final two: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 11 MELBOURNE 7

Melbourne are taking on the Roosters.

Chris Smith's pass puts Joseph Manu over for the first try of the match and in case you are wondering, they play for Sydney Roosters. Sydney Roosters 6 Melbourne 0. Daniel Tupou comes up with a loose ball and runs 50 metres to score. It was a Cameron Munster pass. Paul Carter is off with a sprained ankle. Melbourne have pegged one back. Sydney Roosters 11-7

Malakai Watene-Zelezniak chases a raking kick and wins the race to touch down! Penrith have a foot in the final of a competition they believe has no right to exist! Penrith 8-0. Now Waqa Blake gets yet another! And it's behind the posts so there's a bonus point. Penrith 13-0

Fulltime in quarter-final four: MELBOURNE 25 NORTH QUEENSLAND 12

Slade Griffin chases Brody Croft's kick, Croft converts. Melbourne 14-4. Big upset on the way here with Mark Nichols plunging over between the posts. Croft converts. Melbourne 21-4. As this gets more serious, the footy gets better. Kalyn Ponga just scored a mesmerising try. You only get to use "mesmerising" once a day so it was pretty special. Melbourne 21-8. Josh Addo Carr seals victory for Melbourne. Melbourne 25-8. Consolation try for Javid Bowen. Melbourne 25-12

Halftime in quarter-final four: MELBOURNE 8 NORTH QUEENSLAND 4

It's Melbourne v North Queensland. Gideon Gela-Mosby has just scored a pretty remarkable try for North Queensland. As he dropped a pass, he managed to get a foot to it, regain his balance and successfully win the race to the lolling pill. North Queensland 4 Melbourne 0. Young Tonumaipea adds to his tally to tie the scores 4-4. Canada-eligible Ryley Jacks then posts a real nice Storm try featuring some tasty offloads. Melbourne 8-4

Fulltime in quarter-final three: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 15 BRISBANE 14

Jordan Kahu makes the most of an overlap with his sixth try of the weekend. Kahu converts from the sideline! Sydney Roosters 15-6. My favourite try of the weekend just then, with Darius Boyd puting in a lovely little kick at the end of a sweeping play for Mitch Cronin to score for Brisbane. Sydney Roosters 15-10. A late try by the Broncos, and the kick is taken after the buzzer! It went over but Jordan Kahu took his time. A bit of a sensation. Sydney Roosters 15-14

Halftime in quarter-final three: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 15 BRISBANE 0

It's Brisbane v Sydney Roosters. Young Rooster Chris Smith slices over for our first try and Lattrell Mitchell converts. Sydney Roosters 7 Brisbane 0. Connor Watson continues his weekend out with another try, backing up Mitchell. Sydney Roosters 11-0.

Fulltime in quarter-final two: PARRAMATTA 14 GOLD COAST 0

And Semi Radradra scores his second try of the tournament, yes he threw a dummy Clint Gutherson can't add the extras. Parramatta 10-0. And another from Bevan French, off a Fogarty kick. Parramatta 14-0.

Halftime in quarter-final two: PARRAMATTA 6 GOLD COAST 0

It's Gold Coast v Parramatta. Great defence in this game but Bevan French finally finds a way through the Titans defence. Corey Norman converts. Parramatta 6 Gold Coast 0.

Fulltime in quarter-final one: PENRITH 16 MANLY 12 in overtime

Dylan Walker scores after chasing a Curtis Sironen kick. He was offside. Manly 12-5. Sione Katoa scores and it's 12-12. We're going into overtime. Sitaleki Akauola is held up. Tyrone May scores the winner after a quick spread from right to left.

Halftime in quarter final one: MANLY 7 PENRITH 5

It's Manly v Penrith. Fijian centre Waqa Blake opens the scoring and it's a bonus point. Great story - the Panthers want the tournament called off and they might win it. Penrith 5 Manly 0. Brian Kelly scores for Manly, Cameron Cullen converts. Manly 7-5

Fulltime at Eden Park: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 21 CANBERRA 0

Daniel Tupou pounces on a bounce to exten the Roosters lead. Mitchell converts. Sydney Roosters 17-0. Ryan Matterson adds to the tricolours'  total. Sydney Roosters 21-0. Meanwhile, I don't know what this caption means. You know what? I'm too old and cranky to want to know. Jarryd Hayne out of the Titans' next game.

Halftime at Eden Park: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 11 CANBERRA 0

Latrell Mitchell snatches up a loose ball and runs the length of the field. He converts from in front. Did well to palm off Thomas Cronan. Sydney Roosters 7 Canberra 0. Latrell Mitchell scores again after some nice Roosters attack on the left. Sydney Roosters 11-0
