- Full Moon and Stars Painting Exhibition New paintings by Jeff Gard...ner at the former historic Maldon 1863 Uniting Church – as part of the Castlemaine State Festival Open Studios programme Inspired and created in the Porcupine Flat orchard studio under the moonlight observing the passage of time, stars and distant planets. Mid career artist Jeff Gardner ‘s painting are sought after and collectable. This painting exhibition is the first of many that will take place in Jeff Gardner’s newly created gallery/studio in the heart of Maldon, Victoria. These recent paintings have emerged after many years spent as a printmaker. Jeff Gardner’s etchings have been widely collected around the world over the last 3 decades. Jeff's paintings are rich with metaphor and imbued with personal symbolism. The painting "Snow Drifting" is an example of an artwork that is about time shared within the intimate dream state of waking. The art is unabashedly personal. No apology. They are not political or religious, however, they are philosophical in nature. Jeff says, “The works are a poetic statement about existence.” The church environment is an inspiration for future stars! Don't miss this opportunity to visit Jeff in his studio and see his new paintings before they all find homes in private collections. Full Moon and Stars opening is on Sunday 8th March @ 4pm. All welcome. Exhibition Full Moon and Stars runs from Saturday 14th March until Sunday 22nd March 2015. 10am - 5pm daily See More

When they go to the movies together Issy and her dad have a long-running tradition of only seeing horror or disaster flicks (Freud's official term for this is 'cute family bonding'). We asked them both to review It Follows and they rename it 'All Your Old Roots Come Back to Haunt You'.
Jonny Telafone is launching his first official album tonight at The Tote. He made us a mixtape that's apocalyptic, strange and kind of uplifting all at once.
Anger, hurt and betrayal practically drip from some of these pages, but Kim Gordon never seems to raise her voice. It's like she's never used an exclamation point in her life. She's smart enough not to have to.

Over the last eight years artist-run label Two Bright Lakes always earned space on our calendar by taking risks on new local sounds and generally just brightening the vibes. Now they've wound things up and moved on but saw it fit to throw a massive party at Schoolhouse Studios.
Jasmine was there to snap it up.
