Lady who lunches! Princess Beatrice is all smiles as she stops off for a meal at a posh eatery in Chelsea

  • Royal, 28, was spotted lunching at the Ivy Garden restaurant in London
  • Covered up against winter chill in sensible grey coat and black boots
  • Princess went make-up free allowing her natural beauty to shine through

She's known for her love of a night on the town, but today Princess Beatrice did her socialising during daylight hours with a trip to a posh London restaurant.

The royal, 28, was spotted emerging from The Ivy Chelsea Garden, looking fresh faced as she went make-up free for the outing.

Beatrice sensibly covered up against the winter chill in a smart grey coat and paired her outfit with black suede knee high boots.

Beatrice is her own boss these days as she is busy setting up her own consultancy firm, as well as her royal duties on behalf of the Queen.

Earlier this month, singer Ed Sheeran opened up about a rumoured incident in which Beatrice accidentally injured his face while pretending to knight James Blunt with a sword.

Just days after claiming he couldn't speak about the incident, Ed, 25, went into detail about the event during an interview with Absolute Radio.

The singer said: 'I got hit in the face and I was like, all right, OK, and then started carrying on and then I looked down at my shirt and it was just completely covered in blood.

'And everyone was kind of gaping open-mouthed at me. What have I got a nosebleed or something? What’s happened?'

The Shape of You singer needed stitches after it was claimed that Beatrice, 28, swung a sword over her shoulder while she was pretending to 'knight' James Blunt, not realising that Ed was behind her.

He has since been left with a noticeable scar on his right cheek, an inch underneath his eye.

Ouch! Ed Sheeran didn't realise his face had been cut open during his infamous sword incident with Princess Beatrice until seeing his shirt was 'covered in blood'

The star, who still hasn't categorically confirmed the princess as the culprit, told the station's Andy Bush: 'James Blunt would like me to tell everyone that it was him and he was trying to reclaim his pop career by killing me.'

The incident is reported to have happened at a party in November at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, after the You’re Beautiful singer Blunt, 42, joked that he would love to be made a Sir.

In addition to partying with popstars, the royal is working on her own business interests after leaving the New York investment firm Sandbridge Capital in June.

At the time of her exit, sources claimed Bea had been given the boot, but friends insisted she resigned from the firm to set up her own business consultancy, backed by her former employer.

Sandbridge advises and invests in fashion, health and consumer businesses and boasts brands including Topshop and Karl Lagerfeld in its portfolio.

A source said: 'She is creating a start-up consultancy backed by, and in association with, the group she worked with. She and some other people have set up a consultancy business under the auspices of Sandbridge Capital.'
