Maurice to stand at Arrowfield

Dominant: Maurice won his final start in the Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin.

Arrowfield's John Messara has once again bought one of the best milers in the world to stand in Australia with the announcement that Maurice will stand in the Hunter Valley for a $33,000 service fee in 2017.

Karaka sales a hit despite lower average

Top buyer: local David Ellis was again to the fore at the Karaka Premier Sales.

The Karaka Premier Sale was slightly down on averages compared to 2016, but it still brought outstanding results for the likes of New Zealand Bloodstock, spearheaded by retiring chairman Joe Walls,  and deceased stallions O'Reilly and High Chaparral.
