The residence at 79 Antill Street in Downer is among four properties earmarked for demolition.
The proposal includes plans to replace the brick buildings with 16 new architect-designed dwellings, with a mix of one, two and three-bedroom units, plus a basement carpark.

The duplexes at 79 to 85 Antill Street are located opposite the Dickson Town Centre at the intersection with Cowper Street.
The ACT government will lodge a development application for the project early this year. It follows a pre-application community consultation in December.
In 1997 former ANU law student Anu Singh, then 25, injected her boyfriend, 26-year-old Joe Cinque, with a lethal dose of heroin inside their home at number 79.
Singh was acquitted of murder in 1999 on the basis of diminished responsibility. Instead, she was charged with manslaughter and served four years of a 10-year sentence.
The site of Cinque’s death, 79 Antill Street, is singed in the memories of many people throughout Canberra and further afield, particularly those who have read Garner’s book.
The 568-sqaure-metre property was sold for $165,200 in late 1998, according to Allhomes data.
It was sold again in April, 2016 for $710,000.
