Twitter for students

Soar to new heights

We believe the open exchange of information can be a compelling force for good in the world, and we've built Twitter to be the real-time public platform for authentic voices, conversations, and ideas. We have a great space, an exciting road ahead, and a passionate group of people who use our product. We genuinely love what we do and we're looking for others who share our passion.

As an intern or new grad, you’ll have the support you need — and the responsibility — to make a difference on a grand scale.

Get an unbeatable experience

We know passion matters, which is why it’s important you work on a team or project that's meaningful to you. All our teams are solving challenging problems impacting millions of users and one of those could be your perfect match. This is why we'll let you choose which team and location you prefer.

When you log into Twitter, you’ll likely see a feature shipped by an intern. All of our interns have a hand in building a product that’s changing the world — whether you're in engineering or global sales and revenue. You’re given the freedom to take risks and the ability to use your knowledge to tackle tough problems. Interns and full-time employees work hand-in-hand to empower the world to share ideas instantly.

We’ll match you with both a manager *and* mentor for support throughout your internship. In addition, you’ll meet with key leaders and innovators across the company. Every day you’ll work alongside some of the friendliest and smartest people in the business — in a transparent environment where hard work is expected and fun is never forgotten. From Q&A’s with the CEO to extreme go-kart racing, you’ll never have a dull moment and will always have an opportunity to learn and grow.

    Your resume

Your resume should be in a format that is clean, easy to read, and succinct. For more tips, see our Resume 101 for Students

    Coding

Come prepared to write code. This might be on a whiteboard, chalkboard, on paper, a laptop, or via a code pair system.

    Think aloud

By verbalizing your thoughts, the interviewer can understand your approach to the problem and jump in to guide you when necessary.

    Tell us why

Everyone you talk with will want to know why you want to intern at Twitter. Having a thorough and specific response will demonstrate your interest and passion.

    Do your research

Show us you have a solid understanding of our company and our products. Here are a few resources to get you started.

    Come with questions

Being prepared with questions indicates your interest and enthusiasm. It’s also a way to see if you can add value to our culture and your desired role.

    FAQs

    What's the application process?

There are 3 steps to our process. First, you'll complete a quick online application where you'll select preferred interest areas and office locations. Then if your interests and resume feel like a good match, we'll reach out about setting up a phone interview. And if you move forward in the process, we'll bring you onsite where you'll meet with 4-6 people for interviews (or conduct via video conferencing).

    When should I apply?

We offer 12-week internship programs across the fall, spring, and summer academic periods. If you are seeking co-op opportunities, we can usually accommodate your timing.

What’s the most common mistake applicants make?
Attention to detail. Make sure to include personal details like your graduation year and contact information. Make sure to edit and proof your materials before you hit "send." Be prompt in responding to recruiter email messages and give any requested information quickly. Remember, the TwitterU team is your advocate. We really want you to succeed and #JoinTheFlock

I applied and was turned down, what's next?
You may submit one application per recruiting season. We encourage you to reapply the following year and demonstrate changes in your resume and experience (e.g., a new internship or extracurricular project).

    Will I be paid?
We offer competitive salaries for both full time and internship opportunities. Full time candidates will receive relocation support if needed and interns will receive a housing stipend.

    Where are you hiring?
We have career opportunities in our offices around the world: San Francisco, New York, Boston, Dublin — just to name a few. You may select up to three location preferences in your application.

What should I wear to my interview?
We have a very relaxed, welcoming, and fun environment. While we don’t have a strict dress code, we also wouldn’t recommend pajamas. Come comfortable and prepared to show why you're the best candidate to work at Twitter.

I previously interned at Twitter. Can I apply for another opportunity later?
Absolutely! The application process for former Twitter interns is the same as for other candidates.
