Steve Huffman (second from right), co-founder of Reddit, has had laser surgery because he does not want to rely on post-apocalyptic opticians.

Haeli Way, 29, had been arrested in December 2015 after allegedly engaging in sexual activity with two 17-year-old boys. She was a teacher at Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. She will not have to register as a sex offender and her attorney said she will likely get probation when she is sentenced on March 10.

President Donald Trump reunited with First Lady Melania Trump on Friday afternoon for his first weekend getaway from the White House after a whirlwind week which left Washington - and the world - reeling. 'I told you I'd win that election,' he told a crowd that welcomed him in Palm Beach after a flight aboard Air Force One. The first lady gave him a kiss at the bottom of the stairs he used to exit the presidential aircraft after the flight from outside Washington.
Traveling with the president aboard Air Force One was Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, who chairs a panel of business CEOs for the president. The first lady has had no public appearances since the inauguration. She has been at the couple's Trump Tower home in New York while their 10-year-old son Barron attends school.

On Friday, just a handful of severely marked down shoes are all that remain of Ivanka Trump's clothing line on the Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack websites. The department store announced on Thursday that it was dropping the brand due to poor sales. It's believed that the poor sales were caused by a boycott of Trump brands by those unhappy with the election's outcome. As the final items in her line were put on clearance (items online and at a Nordstrom Rack in New York, right), the first daughter looked downcast as she attended a meeting with business leaders at the White House. Arnold Schwarzenegger seems to be taking on Donald Trump on his chosen medium, Twitter. Schwarzenegger shot back at Trump's Friday morning tweet that trashed his gubernatorial and reality TV hosting record a bit after 3pm. But where Trump used words, Schwarzenegger opted for more of a 'mic drop' and simply linked to a 2006 article about how he released his tax records.

The parents of a 13-year-old girl have been found guilty of bringing her to the United States from Canada to marry the infamous polygamous leader Warren Jeffs. A Canadian court has found former husband and wife Brandon J Blackmore, center, and Gail Blackmore, right, guilty of taking their daughter Millie Blackmore, left, to the United States for a sexual purpose when they arranged for her marriage to Jeffs in 2004. Their son, Brandon S Blackmore, revealed that Millie married Jeffs, and he told Vice that his other sister, Annie Mae Blackmore was also married to the leader at an unknown date. The family's sect leader Winston Blackmore is currently being prosecuted for polygamy.

Suburban Detroit residents are being advised not to flush toilets or simply hold it in during the Super Bowl halftime show in fears the flushing will overwhelm a massive sinkhole (left). The giant sinkhole damaged a regional sewer main line after it opened up on Christmas Eve, affecting more than 300,000 people in Macomb County, Michigan. Public works chief Candice Miller is worried that the thousands of football fans watching the big game will take a bathroom break at halftime Sunday night and overload the broken sewer line. The Super Bowl is being held in Houston, Texas, on Sunday Night with a halftime show by Lady Gaga (top and bottom right).

Hand in hand, Prince Harry and his actress girlfriend Meghan Markle (left) walk through the streets of London as rumors of an impending engagement continue to grow. The prince was pictured holding hands with the American-born divorcee (inset), who has been spending a lot of time with him at Kensington Palace since the beginning of the year, after a romantic dinner at trendy private members' club Soho House on Wednesday. Harry, 32, was said by onlookers to be relaxed about being photographed with his new love (right), which is being seen by royal watchers as a sign of how seriously he is taking the relationship. Another indication is that Miss Markle, 35, who is based in Canada where she films the hit television show Suits, has found a sitter for her dogs, Guy and Bogart, who live with her in Toronto.

Brenda (left), who declined to give her last name, said Friday that she was flying from New Orleans to Fort Lauderdale when flight attendants first accused her of being drunk and belligerent. The waitress says she was sober at the time and told the employees she wasn't intoxicated. She told the network a flight attendant then told her to cover up. Brenda asked a fellow passenger to take a photo of her outfit (upper right) to show that it wasn't inappropriate. She believes the airline was trying to make room for another employee and were trying to find any excuse to remove her from the plane. Spirit Airlines (bottom right, file picture) has denied her claims.

Transexual and transgender people are often shunned in the largely conservative country, and many choose to retreat to a community on the island of Java. Here they could, until last year, attend an Islamic boarding school for transgender learners, thought to be the only one in the world. Now the waria - a term which combines the Indonesian words 'wanita' and 'pria', which mean woman and man - often gather in the building to pray, but the school shut after a public outcry last year. Nevertheless, defiant teachers continue to hold occasional classes for those of the 42 students who continue their learning.

Kala Brown, 30, will speak out for the first time after her dramatic rescue from being chained in a storage container and watching her captor, Todd Kohlhepp, kill her boyfriend Charlie Carver. At the time of the rescue, the couple had been missing for two months from their home in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Now, in her first public interview since her dramatic rescue, Brown plans to say later this month on 'Dr Phil' that her captor did not break her. She said in a statement on the shows website, 'No matter what he did to me, he did not break me. He cannot destroy me, and I won'.

Karl Vernon Williams, 36, is charged with assault after he is seen on video charging into a school bus and slapping a 16-year-old teen he accuses of 'messing with' his stepdaughter. The teen reported the incident when he got home and his mother called police. Williams faces various charges including assault and interfering with the operation of a school bus.

NEW Model Alexandra Kutas, 23, who lives in Dnipro, Ukraine, told Femail: 'I think this could be a real game-changer in the fashion world. Alexandra, who suffered a spinal cord injury at birth, has never been able to walk - but that hasn't stopped her from chasing her dreams. With the help of New York-based friend Blake Wind, who is also in a wheelchair, she was put into contact with acclaimed Ukrainian fashion designer Fedor Vozianov, who offered to make her the face of his upcoming collection in two runway shows.

A 17-year-old drug gang leader accused of carrying out more than 30 murders has been arrested in Colombia after a lengthy manhunt. Due to strict privacy protections for minors in the South American country authorities are identifying the teenage killer only by his nickname of 'Frijolito' which tranlsates to 'Little Bean'. Police in the southern city of Cali on Friday said the highly dangerous criminal was picked up this week and that his last job was a double homicide in a shopping centre last September.

A video showing a North Carolina police officer approaching some teenagers while holding an assault weapon has alarmed critics who say it's an example of police intimidation. The video, posted to Facebook by one of the teens, shows the officer holding the AR-15 pointed downwards in his hands as he steps towards the teens.

Some of the most popular crystals include rose quartz, clear quartz, black tourmaline and citrine. To use crystals effectively, exponents say, it is important to 'set your intention' first. In other words, if you don't know what you want, then the crystal cannot help you. You must treat it correctly, they add. Since a crystal is believed to carry energy, it is vital to rid it of any negative vibrations before you begin using it. Believers point to the fact that crystals are used in modern technology such as watches, radios and computers as proof that they can transmit energy into the body.

A neglected dog whose matted ball of dirty fur made her breed unidentifiable has had a haircut and given a name as the RSPCA launch an investigation into how she ended up resembling a 'dirty mop'. The tiny shih tzu has been named Rosie and was handed into a veterinary practice in Bury after she was found by a member of the public. In addition to her overgrown coat her flesh was covered in deep wounds and her skin was bleeding. Rosie is thought to be aged between three and six-years-old, had no microchip or ID tag when she was handed in to vets.

The Gulf Coast Bigfoot Research Organization (bottom right), which will appear Saturday in Destination America's new show 'Killing Bigfoot', responds to reported Sasquatch sightings, hunting down each specimen. Members of the GCBRO, which include former cops as well as National Guard and military veterans, have no doubts about the existence of the creature. The group says on its website that several of its hunters have witnessed it with their own eyes. They use night-vision equipment, microphones and thermal imaging to try to capture traces of the animal (upper right). But GCBRO investigator Don Mcdonald (left) said it's hard to catch a Sasquatch on camera, possibly because of the creature's sharp vision.

A section of sea cliff above a massive 'firehose' lava flow on Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano has collapsed and splashed into the ocean as tourists and geologists watched. A large crack in the section of cliff above the gushing molten lava stream gave way Thursday afternoon as scientists stood just yards away.  Geologists with Hawaii Volcano Observatory were at the site to monitor the crack when it collapsed,  and managed to capture the scene on video.

The impressive giant puzzle, created by German artist Clemens Habicht, features all the colours in the CMYK spectrum. This makes it extremely difficult to complete, as tiles next to each other are almost identical in colour - but not exactly the same. In the time-lapse video, the jigsaw builders can be seen completing the edges of the puzzle first, before moving inwards.
