  • 48 reading now

Radio shock jock Steve Price has revealed an intense rivalry between he and on-air rival John Laws almost ended in fisticuffs.

In camp on I'm a Celebrity ... Get me Out of Here Price told his fellow celebrities his feud with Laws had erupted ringside at an Anthony Mundine fight one night when news leaked out that he had been dumped from 2UE's prime breakfast spot.

Steve Price skewers John Laws

Describing an ongoing feud with fellow radio announcer John Laws, Steve Price entertains his fellow contestants on I'm a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here.

"Ratings were okay, they weren't great and management lost courage and decided they needed to move me back from breakfast to drive," Price said.

"So I go to the fight and I'm sitting there, thinking no one else knows, I'm thinking to myself, 'Right, this is going to get public tomorrow so at least I've got tonight to enjoy'. Next minute around the ring walks John Laws, who was in mornings.

"He comes over and hugs me. I'm thinking, 'That is very weird, John Laws doesn't even like me'. Then all the cameras appeared from everywhere so someone had leaked it between when I got told and when I got to the fight, which was pretty ordinary. It was Lawsy big noting himself. He couldn't stand me and yet he is hugging me in the boxing."

Price later extracted his own form of revenge when asked to speak to an on-air promotion celebrating Law's 50 years in radio.

"I said the thing that always struck me about John Laws is he's got very weird hair," he said. "It looks like it is green and fake.

"The next day I'm sitting in my office and he gets off air and my producers are out there, about three of them, and I see them all scatter away and he comes through the door. "You [bleep] little [bleep]. If you ever do that again I'll [bleep] smash you. I'm like, 'Do it now, don't wait'."

Price is now on sabbatical from his evening shift at 2GB while he goes "wild" with nine other celebrities including former Olympic swimmer Lisa Curry, 54, and Tziporah Malkah, model and the former girlfriend of James Packer.

Ten Network viewers seem to be taking their own wicked revenge on Price with the 62-year-old broadcaster having been voted to take part in back-to-back challenges.
