The hemispheric long wave pattern has remained stable in recent weeks. There are five main troughs. Currently the most significant troughs are near the longitudes of South Africa, eastern Australia, the southeast Pacific, South America, and the Atlantic Ocean.
Summary:
Over southern and eastern Australia the cold front events with potential to bring widespread rain are now expected about 10 February to 14 February, 14 February to 18 February, and 20 February to 24 February. Rain events originating in the tropics and moving south are possible about 11 February to 15 February, 15 February to 19 February, and 19 February to 23 February. Over Western Australia the strongest cold fronts should occur about 10 February to 14 February, 14 February to 18 February, and 4 March to 8 March.
