A U.S. judge lifted President Donald Trump's immigration ban on people from seven predominantly Muslim countries on Friday. U.S. District Judge James Robart in Seattle ruled against government lawyers' claims that the states did not have the standing to challenge Trump's order and said they showed their case was likely to succeed. The ruling comes after Washington state and Minnesota urged a nationwide hold on the executive order that has launched legal battles across the country. Judge Robart's temporary restraining order was made immediate, meaning that the president's controversial and widely protested travel restrictions could be lifted promptly. 'The decision shuts down the executive order immediately,' Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson, center, said outside the courthouse. 'No one is above the law - not even the President.'
