James Corden hosts American Songbook Gala honoring his boss Leslie Moonves and CBS network
James Corden hosted the American Songbook Gala on Wednesday in New York City.
The 38-year-old English comedian shared the Lincoln Center stage in Alice Tully Hall with surprise guests and special tributes.

Moonves replaced Sumner Redstone, 93, as chairman of CBS in February 2016 and Corden hosts the network's The Late Late Show.
Corden looked dapper in a grey suit, white dress shirt and blue tie while hosting the star-studded event.
He posed with gala honoree Moonves on the red carpet at the gala.
Corden also teamed up with Chelsea Clinton and LL Cool J at the fundraising event.

The gala was co-chaired by Diane Von Furstenberg, Barry Diller, Adrienne Arsht, Bryan Lourd and Bruce Bozzi.
Proceeds from the event will support the American Songbook series and other performance festivals at Lincoln Center.
CBS was honored for its history of bringing music into American homes dating to the late 1920s.

The network from 1958 to 1972 aired the Emmy-winning series Young People's Concerts conducted by Leonard Bernstein.
They were among the first programs ever broadcast from the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
CBS under Moonves has continued its strong commitment to music and recently renewed its long-time partnership to broadcast the Grammy Awards through 2026.
It also has extended its commitment to air the Kennedy Center Honors through 2025.
CBS also has served as home to the Tony Awards since 1978.
