Live NRL 2016 Round 9: Parramatta Eels v Canterbury Bulldogs

After the players had already started leaving the field and the broadcast cut away to the studio, we come back so Edwards can tap the ball and kick it into touch to make it official - sensation second half from the Eels who were brilliant in defence. Brad Takairangi had an excellent game in the halves and his partner, Corey Norman, was brilliant again. For the Bulldogs it's the same problems it's been all year, no options late in the tackle count and too much ball playing when at times just a good, straight run is needed.

There's a big flare up as the siren goes! Klemmer carries on with a tackle on Beau Scott and tries to grab his leg and lift him which sparks a run-in but it's defused.

Takairangi drills a grubber over the sideline, the Bulldogs pack the scrum and time is stopped with 1:51 left on the clock.

The Bulldogs, for what feels like the 50th time this year, run it on the last and lose it via a changeover - Kasiano of all people came in at first reciever and tries to put Morris through a hole but they were ready for him. The Eels should hold on from here.

Gutherson has to take a Holland grubber dead and the Bulldogs get a repeat set - six minutes to go.

Edwards goes close but loses it so finally the Bulldogs can play it off their own line before Wicks gives away a penalty. The Dogs have seven minutes to score twice!

Wicks throws an ill-advised offload after nearly scoring from a crash ball and the Bulldogs come away with it, but one tackle later, Parramatta are back on the attack as Williams coughs it up!

Hopoate trapped in goal after a good kick from Norman - the Bulldogs go short from the dropout but Jennings does well to bat it back for Edwards!

De Gois is over the line but he's held up! That was close - it was under the posts and would have made it a 14 point lead.

Norman splits them up the middle after Semi absolutely trampled James Graham, but then he's tackled from behind by Hopoate who steals the ball! Another try there would have killed the game off.

Takairangi tries to pop one offload too many but gets it all wrong and spills it straight to Rona. Canterbury need to score twice in this last 15 minutes.

The Eels run it on the last, Gutherson tries to pop and offload but it came off a Bulldog hand and they'll get six more tackles a metre out!

Reynolds puts up a spiral bomb, Gutherson takes it perfectly and then streaks away upfield before being tackled on the halfway line and then held down by Phillips! Super return!

Peats kicks on the last, Hopoate does well to fend off a couple of chasers but can't outrun the whole herd and he's trapped in goal!

The kick from Mbye is far too deep and it gives Semi an easy mark in his own in-goal.
