Believe it or not, Robert Barranco does more than smearing peanut butter in his face and doing deadly cavemans. While most "Day in the Life's" are overly glamorized and have people making their days seem way cooler than normal, this is pretty much realistic. If anything, Bert normally get's into even more adventures late at night, but I cut off the filming at like 2AM because I had to get up early the next day. Bert is an awesome kid who really knows how to have a good time, and I think he is a perfect example of how we all need to take a step back sometimes and not take things so seriously. Bert may not have the best tricks or the best style, but he is 100% one of my favorite riders because he is a great reminder that you don't need to be the best BMX rider to get somewhere with it.
I wasn't really in the video much for a couple reasons. Obviously I was filming the whole time, and I also have a pretty bad heel issue that I will talk about in the next weekly update. It was actually kind-of fun to be behind the scenes for once.
If any of you have filmed or edited before, you know how much work it is to put together a 3 minute video. Now imagine a 30 minute video.... I pretty much set aside an entire weekend to put this together because I really wanted to make it awesome. It was a typical Tuesday. Bert and I went to the skatepark together, did each others makeup, then rode a little at Oviedo Skatepark. However, we wanted to film a video. We decided to do a Game of BIKE, due to popular request, and we self filmed the whole thing. Although it's a bit different in 1st person view vs. 3rd person, I kind of like it. I really have a passion for teaching people tricks. Instead of just giving the basics, like most videos do, I like to give a step-by-step breakdown of all the little weird things that make learning specific tricks fast and easy. That's how I like to learn, so the least I can do is share what helps me with others! If you like my How-Tos, please acknowledge it with a comment or like, maybe even share the video with a friend who can't do the trick! The more people we can help the better :) Feel free to suggest more how-tos, but keep in mind that I WILL NOT make a video for any trick that I don't feel like I can explain to the point where you can learn it. Bert Kaempfert (born Berthold Kämpfert; 16 October 1923 – 21 June 1980) was a German orchestra leader and songwriter. He made easy listening and jazz-oriented records, and wrote the music for a number of well-known songs, such as Strangers in the Night, Wonderland by Night, The World we Knew, etc.
Bert Kaempfert had almost too much talent, ability, and good luck rolled into one career to be fully appreciated, even by his own chosen audience, the lovers of fine orchestral pop music. He was one of the most successful conductors, arrangers, and recording artists in the latter field, but was also a major producer and played a key (if indirect) role in the roots of the British beat boom of the early 60’s, which evolved into the British Invasion of America in 1964.

Believe it or not, Robert Barranco does more than smearing peanut butter in his face and doing deadly cavemans. While most "Day in the Life's" are overly glamorized and have people making their days seem way cooler than normal, this is pretty much realistic. If anything, Bert normally get's into even more adventures late at night, but I cut off the filming at like 2AM because I had to get up early the next day. Bert is an awesome kid who really knows how to have a good time, and I think he is a perfect example of how we all need to take a step back sometimes and not take things so seriously. Bert may not have the best tricks or the best style, but he is 100% one of my favorite riders because he is a great reminder that you don't need to be the best BMX rider to get somewhere with it.
I wasn't really in the video much for a couple reasons. Obviously I was filming the whole time, and I also have a pretty bad heel issue that I will talk about in the next weekly update. It was actually kind-of fun to be behind the scenes for once.
If any of you have filmed or edited before, you know how much work it is to put together a 3 minute video. Now imagine a 30 minute video.... I pretty much set aside an entire weekend to put this together because I really wanted to make it awesome. It was a typical Tuesday. Bert and I went to the skatepark together, did each others makeup, then rode a little at Oviedo Skatepark. However, we wanted to film a video. We decided to do a Game of BIKE, due to popular request, and we self filmed the whole thing. Although it's a bit different in 1st person view vs. 3rd person, I kind of like it. Bert Kaempfert had almost too much talent, ability, and good luck rolled into one career to be fully appreciated, even by his own chosen audience, the lovers of fine orchestral pop music. He was one of the most successful conductors, arrangers, and recording artists in the latter field, but was also a major producer and played a key (if indirect) role in the roots of the British beat boom of the early 60’s, which evolved into the British Invasion of America in 1964.
