But Oprah Winfrey was spotted on the set of her upcoming fantasy adventure A Wrinkle In Time on Thursday, sporting an altogether different look.

The 63-year-old chat show host looked unrecognisable thanks to a bouffant blonde wig, crimped tendrils framing her face, as she relaxed on location in Los Angeles.

She will star in the highly-anticipated film directed by her longtime friend, Ava DuVernay.

Oprah and DuVernay previously collaborated on Selma, about Martin Luther King Jr's historic march, which Oprah produced as well as starred in.

Disney is adapting the classic fantasy based on Madeleine L’Engle’s book series, Time Quartet, with a script by Oscar-winning Frozen writer and co-director Jennifer Lee.

The story follows a young girl whose government scientist father has gone missing after working on a mysterious project.

Three supernatural beings transport her, her young brother and a schoolmate to other dimensions and planets in the quest to find her dad.
