Who said acting was easy? Joanne Froggatt shelters from the rain as she braves freezing conditions while filming Liar in Kent

Her role in Downton Abbey may have given her profile a boost.

But Joanne Froggatt, 36, still had to put in the hard work on the set of her latest project 'Liar', with the star visibly shaking in the freezing conditions by the sea in Kent.

As the rain poured down, Joanne took shelter underneath an umbrella kindly held by a member of the crew.

Rain, rain, go away! Joanne Froggatt, 36, put in the hard work on the set of her latest project Liar, with the star visibly shaking in the freezing conditions by the sea in Kent

She wrapped up in a large black coat and pulled up the fur-lined hood over her blonde locks.

The star held a silver thermos, no doubt filled with a hot beverage to make the process slightly more bearable.

There was barely any relief when the rain eventually did let up, as the biting wind coming off the water had Joanne and her co-star Zoe Tapper, 35, bouncing up and down on their toes.

Zoe's hair blew wildly in the wind, while Joanne clenched her hand in a fist and looked frozen through.

Set against the backdrop of marshland, beached boats and an overcast sky, the scenes certainly had a bleak feel.
