Her much anticipated headline slot at this year's Coachella festival has been put in doubt since her surprise pregnancy announcement this week.

But sources close to Beyonce have claimed the superstar, who is expecting twins, could still collect her reported $1million fee for the two performances thanks to an insurance policy.

TMZ report that while it's not known yet if the star will go ahead with her performance at the California event in April, her bank balance will still be boosted.

Organisers of the world renowned festival have reportedly still not confirmed with Beyonce if she will continue with her headline slot.

While it is not clear how far along the star is in her pregnancy, it's thought she is around four to five months, meaning she'll be at least six months pregnant at the time of Coachella.

Sources connected with the festival have told TMZ that Beyonce and her team had secured a fee in excess of $1million for her two performances, and she could still be paid if she cancels due to a common insurance policy written for entertainers.

Anticipated performance: Organisers of the world renowned festival held each April in Indio, California have reportedly still not confirmed with Beyonce if she will continue with her slot

Superstar: While it is not clear how far along the star is in her pregnancy, it's thought she is around four to five months, meaning she'll be at least six months pregnant at time of Coachella

According to one such policy, obtained by TMZ, the insurance company will pay the fee of a singer for 'incapacity' which typically includes complications from a high-risk pregnancy.

The 35-year-old singer announced she and husband Jay-Z are expecting twins - posting a pregnant snapshot of herself on Instagram account on Wednesday.

She added a caption which read: 'We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters.'

A day later the star uploaded additional shots from her glamorous pregnancy shoot to her official website, as she posed with daughter Blue and was filmed swimming under water with her bump on show.

An earlier report from TMZ this week stated that Beyonce's pregnancy with daughter Blue Ivy - now five - was a 'difficult' one, 'requiring bed rest' and points out that the star's second time around with twins could require even more care. This could therefore put her Coachella appearance at risk.

Sources told the website that organisers Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Live which produces the event, apparently have 'no idea' how far along Beyonce's pregnancy is.

Another insider said the company have tried and failed to reach the singer or her representative.

However, a source connected with the singer apparently told TMZ that she still plans to perform - health depending.

And Goldenvoice apparently 'isn't worried' about their star turn, mainly due to the festival selling out before the headline acts were even announced at the beginning of January.

The Single Ladies singer, who has kept out of the spotlight in recent months, and her rapper husband are already parents to five-year-old Blue Ivy.

In 2013, Beyonce revealed she had suffered a miscarriage prior to the arrival of her daughter.

While her Coachella performance remains up in the air, it's been reported this week that the singer will be performing at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, according to Entertainment Tonight's sources.

The pregnant 35-year-old singer was seen heading to a rehearsal on Thursday in LA - complete with a camera crew, dancers and hair and makeup professionals ahead of the February 12 awards do.
