EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Margot Robbie eerily channels Tonya Harding as she films impressive scenes on the ice as the notorious skater for new movie
This star has got some big skates to fill and it has got her in a bit of a spin.
It is safe to say Margot Robbie will not be attempting to replicate Tonya Harding's famous triple axel any time soon.
In a video obtained by the DailyMail.com, the 26-year-old actress did her best to replicate the infamous Olympian's moves as she filmed I, Tonya in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday.

While the Australian star looked pretty impressive on the ice on the ice, she was not about to give herself a perfect 6.0.
An eyewitness tells the DailyMail.com that the actress became very frustrated as she tried to replicate one of Tonya's routines from the late Eighties.
The onlooker said the star 'had to do close to 20 takes' to try to nail the routine.
'[Margot] got frustrated and wound up walking off leaving her stunt double to take over,' the on set insider said.

Whether she could stick all the moves, The Wolf On Wall Street star certainly looked the part dressing in a purple with silver sequins unitard.
The costume was an exact replica of the one worn by Tonya wore at the start of her career.
In a video of the star's skating session, she appeared to have all the moves down but nearly tripped during one of her transitions.

Starting from the top the same move gave the actress trouble over and over again but she managed to keep upright.
Margot was being pretty hard on herself as for most of the routine she looked as though she was an experienced ice skater.
Margot did, however, do a much better job at her other routine of the day.

The star recreated Tonya's 1992 Olympic Short Program routine. Tonya would miss out on a medal to rival Nancy Kerrigan.
Margot looked just like the disgraced skating star as she executed the exact moves to the same song used in 1992.
The star also wore the same leotard that the real-life Tonya had worn in the Olympics.

The high necked black with gold unitard clung to the Australian star's noticeably thicker shape.
Margot appears to have put on some weight to play the athletic and solidly built Tonya with the usually very slender star's face looking fuller.
The actress has also got a little help from the wardrobe department as she was also wearing a padded bodysuit.

The suit ensured Margot's famous gams looked thicker particularly in the thigh area to better recreate Tonya's form.
Margot it also currently sporting a wig so that her hair is wavy and teased out with bangs like Tonya's was in the Nineties.
Filming has just started on I, Tonya which is set to be released next year.

The movie follows Tonya and husband Jeff Gillooly, played by Sebastian Stan, who secretly hired a thug to break rival Nancy Kerrigan's leg to force her to pull out of the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.
The attack was botched and Nancy was badly bruised. But despite her injuries she went on to compete, winning a silver medal with Tonya coming eighth.
The 1994 attack was known as The Whack Heard Round The World.

While her ex husband and the other men involved in the attack received jail sentences, Tonya avoided jail by pleading guilty to conspiring to hinder prosecution of the attackers.
The skater received three years probation, 500 hours of community service, and a $160,000 fine but as part of the deal she was also forced to withdraw from the 1994 World Figure Skating Championships and resign from the United States Figure Skating Association.
She was then given a lifetime ban from the sport both as a competitor and as a coach.

Margot returned to work in Los Angeles on January 3 after she and Tom tied the knot on December 19 at a private property in the Byron Bay Hinterland in her native Australia.

The star has been preparing for the role - or the skating at least - for some time.
She told Glamour magazine about learning to skate last year, saying: 'I'm really excited because I love acquiring a new skill for a role, it's one of the biggest treats of acting.
'On the producing side of it - if I get an injury I'm scared I'm going to ruin everything so I'm nervous.'
