A machete-wielding man shouting 'Allahu Akbar' was shot five times in the stomach outside the Louvre in Paris this morning after he attacked four soldiers. French Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve has described the attack as 'terrorist in nature' and a terror probe has been launched by authorities. An estimated 1,250 people were inside the famous art gallery, home to the Mona Lisa, when the shooting happened. Pictures from inside the museum shows schoolchildren cowering during the emergency lockdown.

Australian group the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 posted the image of six pot plants on its Facebook page on Friday - the question is can you spot which one has a snake hiding in it? It seems hard to fathom but one of the plants in the picture has a huge carpet python wrapped around it. All you have to do is work out exactly where the resting reptile could be.

Liam McAtasney (right inset) is alleged to have robbed and killed his acquaintance, Sarah Stern (right), in the early morning hours of December 3. Preston Taylor (seen with Stern in the lefthand photo and in the left inset photo) allegedly helped him throw Stern's body from a bridge in Belmar, New Jersey. McAtasney is charged with murder, felony murder, robbery, disturbing human remains, and conspiring with another to disturb human remains. He is also being accused of hindering apprehension or prosecution. Taylor, also 19, is alleged to have conspired with McAtasney to cover up the crime and hide evidence.

Jack Palkovic (inset), 21, says he was wearing a 'Make America Great Again' cap and on his way to class Thursday when a white SUV slammed to a stop and two young men ran toward him. One of the men screamed an epithet, grabbed Palkovic's hat and pummeled him before the two got back in the vehicle and tried to drive away. Police arrived, blocked their escape and arrested both men. Palkovic is seen in the above photos as he is filmed while the two men grab his hat and attack him, prompting him to retaliate.

Ivanka Trump looked somber, right, after it emerged Nordstrom dropped her fashion brand from its stores due to poor sales. The president's daughter was pictured as she left her home in Washington DC. Stores carrying her products were facing boycotts in protest against her father's policy. Nordstrom had previously featured her goods in a prominent position on their website, inset. The company defended the move on Twitter. In response to one outraged Trump supporter, the company claimed: 'Our buying decisions are based on sales, so it was not a political decision for us. We're sorry for your disappointment'. She is seen bottom left in a photo from her website. A video clip of President Donald Trump's granddaughter singing in Mandarin to celebrate Lunar New Year has gone viral in China. The clip posted by Trump's daughter Ivanka, after their visit to Chinese Embassy in Washington D.C., shows five-year-old Arabella Kushner wishing a happy new year while playing with a traditional Chinese puppet. The video has been viewed over 18 million times on Chinese social media website Weibo since being uploaded to Ivanka's Instagram page on Thursday.

An Iranian man turned away from Los Angeles International Airport under President Donald Trump's executive order barring immigrants from seven Muslim-majority nations returned Thursday to an emotional welcome from family members who greeted him with California-grown flowers and well-wishers who sang 'This Land Is Your Land.' Ali Vayeghan's family had been waiting to welcome him last Friday at the same terminal when he was detained for several hours by immigration officials then sent back to Iran.

All good things must come to an end! The Obamas have jetted out of paradise after ten days in the Virgin Islands - with no children and no work obligations. The former first couple - looking understandably relaxed - took off from the island of Tortola on Thursday, as seen in photos obtained exclusively by Dailymail.com (left). They then made their way back to Washington, and returned to their home just blocks away from Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. Their motorcade (top right) was seen pulling up to the house, while signs dotted the road on neighboring lawns (bottom right) welcoming the former first family home. The pair have been staying on one of Richard Branson's private islands, believed to be the eco-resort island of Moskito, which the Brit owns in addition to Necker, where he keeps a home (pictured with the former first couple on the trip inset left).

Michael Buble' and his wife actress Luisana Lopilato have confirmed that their son Noah is 'progressing well' during his treatment for liver cancer. The Canadian singer shared the happy news on his Facebook page on Friday, after his sister-in-law told a journalist that the three-year-old is cancer free.

Yevgeniu Savenok (pictured inset) pleaded guilty to the brutal murder of his pregnant wife and their unborn son Lyuba, who is pictured with her children, Thursday morning. The murder took place at their home in Eden Prairie, Minnesota in May of 2016. Members of the Eden Prarie Police department were in court to hear his plea, and many described this case as one of the most brutal they had ever investigated. Savenok allegedly stabbed his wife seven or eight times, and she died at the scene. Emergency crew performed an emergency C-section in an attempt to save their unborn son, but he dies minutes after the operation. He was going to be named Ellis.

Keen-eyed conspiracy theorists had spotted a strange circular object on Google Earth satellite images of Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory near Los Angeles earlier this week. Some alien hunters claimed that the object was a flying saucer. But Nasa engineers have since debunked the theory by taking a selfie with the mystery object. Nasa scientist Dr Nacer Chahat tweeted the photos earlier today.

Emotional residents were forced to say goodbye to a neighborhood in Baltimore that was demolished after laying in ruin for decades in the city where roughly 17,000 buildings are estimated to be empty and abandoned. Hundreds of people have called the 900 block of North Bradford Street (pictured main left and inset left and bottom right) home since the nine rowhouses were built on an old brickyard in 1905, according to The Washington Post. But now, the largest city in Maryland has had a steady decrease in population through the years. At its peak, Baltimore's population was 950,000 in 1950. It's estimated to be at roughly 620,000 now, and the lower number is apparent as their are thousands of abandoned boarded-up homes and buildings that are unstable and unoccupied throughout the city. As an alternative to managing thousands of vacant homes, many cities, like Baltimore, have taken to having them demolished, whether they're in good condition or bad. Officers were called to Korea town at around 2:30pm on Wednesday after reports the 83-year-old woman had been assaulted. Witnesses say that the suspect had punched the grandma in the back of her head, knocking her to the ground. Seng Vongphrachanh, a Koreatown resident who arrived at the scene after the attack and chased after her attacker, claims that she repeatedly yelled 'power is power' and the N-word. Alexis Duvall, 27, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of battery and is currently being held on $50,000 bail.

Prosecutors in Kentucky say Zachary Gross (right), 31, used a knife to disfigure Marilyn Stanley (inset, before attack) and sicced his pit bull on her in 2015 after seeing a photo of hers that was posted online by another man. The mother-of-one had 80 per cent of her scalp sliced off and had one of her ears ripped apart (left, in the hospital).

Møvik Fort, at Kristiansand in southern Norway, was constructed between 1941 and 1944 by the German navy to help counter the threat from Allied ships. Mathieu Villegas, of Montréal, Québec in Canada, filmed himself swimming underwater in Morrison's Quarry, near Ottawa and investigating wreckages. The daredevil completed his dives without any breathing equipment, known as freediving. Footage from the camera shows the 42-year-old exploring a plane wreck before diving 65 feet below the surface to sit on top of a submarine wreck.

NEW Streets in the city of Mazatlan in Mexico were flooded after a shark tank at an aquarium cracked and released torrents of water. Around 30 inches of glass detached, causing the tank to burst and water to gush into the streets. A total of 13 sharks and various other fish were located in the tanks and were successfully transferred to new tanks.
