Sand Safari Arts Festival
Sand Safari Arts Festival is a major annual event exhibiting bold works of art inspired by sand and sea, from gallery to the beach.
Running over three weeks, Sand Safari will feature spectacular, life-sized sand sculptures along Surfers Paradise foreshore and throughout the Gold Coast Sand and Sea Trail inspired by the theme ‘Mystical Creatures of the Deep’, intricately carved by the country’s most talented sculptors as part of the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships.
Dramatic, large-scale inflatable art is returning for a second year, with UK inflatables artist Filthy Luker curating incredible creatures from the deep that will take over the Surfers Paradise cityscape.
Events include: Gold Coast Sand and Sea Trail (3 to 26 February), Creatures from the Deep art installations (3 to 26 February), and the annual Australian Sand Sculpting Championships (10 to 12 February). The sculptures then remain on the foreshore for public viewing until 26 February.
Delivering a significant cultural tourism impact, this accessible art event is a memorable, interactive, Australian beachside event for families to return to year-after-year.
