Halifax (/ˈhælᵻfæks/), legally the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. The metropolitan area had a population of 414,400 in 2014 with 297,943 in the urban area centred on Halifax Harbour. The regional municipality consists of four former municipalities that were amalgamated in 1996; Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, and the Municipality of Halifax County.
Halifax is considered a global city and is a major economic centre in eastern Canada with a large concentration of government services and private sector companies. Major employers and economic generators include the Department of National Defence, Dalhousie University, the Halifax Shipyard, various levels of government, and the Port of Halifax. Agriculture, fishing, mining, forestry and natural gas extraction are major resource industries found in the rural areas of the municipality. Halifax was ranked by MoneySense magazine as the fourth best place to live in Canada for 2012, placed first on a list of "large cities by quality of life" and placed second in a list of "large cities of the future", both conducted by fDi Magazine for North and South American cities. Additionally, Halifax has consistently placed in the top 10 for business friendliness of North and South American cities, as conducted by fDi Magazine.

A video of the city of Halifax from my trip there. I LOVE this place. Such a nice city with amazing summer weather. The video starts off at Citadel Hill which shows views of the city. Then at 1:52 I'm filming down on the board walk in town and the Harbor with all the ships and stuff. Back to Citadel Hill and then at 10:03 the Halifax Public Gardens , and back to Citadel Hill for sunset over the city.
Halifax, NS is one of the fastest growing economies in Canada, offering companies the TLC needed for success: Talent, Location and Cost. See for yourself.
It's been a long time since I've made a video, but now there will be regular uploads again. Thanks for staying tuned all these months. I have several projects coming up this summer. Also, I'm taking requests for videos in Halifax and the surrounding area :) This is a test of my new camera (Canon Vixia HF R500) driving around downtown Halifax. Filmed Wednesday, June 4th, 2014. Usually I wouldn't make a video in crappy weather like this, but I was having some problems with the built-in image stabilizer and with the camera shaking while filming and wanted to know if I'd corrected it. I think I have the problem solved now; next time I'll make sure to put down a black cloth to prevent the dash reflecting. What do you think?
Travel video about destination Halifax in Canada. Halifax is part of Canada's federal state of Nova Scotia. The peninsula has a population of 333,000 and it is the country's oldest British settlement, yet has managed to retain all the charm and tranquility of a small town. After Sydney, Halifax has the second largest harbor in the world and is one of the region's few harbors that is free from ice throughout the year. Lobsters, oysters, mussels and fish soup are but a few of the menu items that appear in the seafood restaurants of the Atlantic District. The Maritime Museum covers the history of the fishing industry on Canada's Atlantic coastline and also the history of navigation. Boats and small models illustrate the development of ship-building and include great seafarers and many rema...

Lonely Planet has named Nova Scotia one of it's top ten places to visit in 2012! And it's easy to see why. Tourists come from all over the world for our picturesque, quaint landscape and Maritime charm, but make no mistake, Nova Scotia is anything but boring! Combine that with world--class dining, golf, and hiking with an awe inducing backdrop, and it's easy to see why we were a Lonely Planet top pick. Nova Scotia is also home to three UNSECO world heritage sites, the immensely powerful Bay of Fundy tides, and Canada's agricultural heartland!
