Aaha Kalyanam (English: Wow, Marriage) is a 2014 romantic comedy film directed by debutant A. Gokul Krishna and produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films. A remake of Maneesh Sharma's 2010 Hindi film, Band Baaja Baaraat, the film features Nani and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles. Although it was planned as a bilingual, but it was completely shot in Tamil, while a dubbed Telugu version was released simultaneously along with the Tamil version. The first teaser was launched on 20 December 2013 and the film was released worldwide on 21 February 2014.
Shakthivel (Nani) is street-smart and fun-loving. Intelligent and quirky, Shruti (Vaani Kapoor), who assists the wedding coordinator, sees Shakthi at the front of the food serving line and suspects that he is gatecrashing to eat for free. She confronts Shakthi, who quickly summons his friend, the videographer at the wedding, and pretends that he is part of the film crew and has a right to be there. After seeing her dance at the wedding, Shakthi cannot resist the temptation to make a video of Shruti doing her dance routine.
Aaha...! (Wow...!) is a 1998 Telugu film directed by Suresh Krishna and produced by Nagarjuna under Great India Entertainments .The film stars Jagapathi Babu and Sanghavi in the lead roles. The film won a South Filmfare Award and it is a remake of Suresh Krishna's own Tamil film Aahaa.
Sriram (Jagapati Babu) is the son of 'Pepsi' Parasuram (Vijayakumar) always enjoys his life and his father fell's him useless fellow. Meanwhile, Raghu's college sweetheart, Gita (Bhanupriya) is dying and she wants to spend her last days with him. She contacts him after five years and they begin meeting secretly. Shriram finds out about this and tries to keep the family secrets, take the blame for everyone's shortcomings and becomes the family scapegoat and his father's favorite whipping boy. The rest of the film examines whether or not Raghu is finally vindicated in the eyes of his family.
Vaani Kapoor (born 23 August 1988) is an Indian actress and model. She played leading roles in two films produced by Yash Raj Films — Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and Aaha Kalyanam (2014).
Kapoor's father is a furniture exports entrepreneur and her mother is a teacher-turned marketing executive.She did her schooling at the Mata Jai Kaur Public School in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. Later she enrolled in IGNOU, completing a bachelor’s degree in tourism studies, after which she took up an internship with Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in Jaipur and later worked for ITC Hotel. She was signed by Elite Model Management.
Kapoor debuted on television in the series called Rajuben. She later signed a three film deal with Yash Raj Films. Kapoor was selected through an audition to play in the movie Shuddh Desi Romance. Mohar Basu of Koimoi wrote that Kapoor was "a pleasant debutant though she isn’t an overtly powerful actress" while Madhureeta Mukherjee of The Times Of India thought that she was "impressive, pretty and commands a good screen-presence". Kapoor received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her portrayal of Tara in the film.
Dharan Kumar is an Indian music composer, who mainly produces film scores and soundtracks in the Tamil film industry. He made his film debut Parijatham, featuring the hit single "Unnai Kandene".
Dharan was born on 8 October 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He did his schooling at St. Johns, Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School and Anna Gem schools in Chennai. He started working as an assistant to composer Harris Jayaraj in the films Kaakha Kaakha, Chellame and Anniyan.
Dharan used to participate in music programs in the college, director K. Bhagyaraj's daughter Saranya studied in. For her debut venture, Parijatham, directed by her father, Saranya recommended Dharan as the film composer. The album became a chartbuster, with the song "Unnai Kandaene" being listed among the top ten songs of the year.Sify in its review described Dharan's songs and background score as "a major highlight" of the film, which became a commercial successful as well.
His next release was the soundtrack album to the low-budget horror thriller Sivi that starred newcomers. The album received very positive reviews and response as well, while Dharan's background score was highly appreciated by critics and described as "haunting", and "top-class" that gives the film "its true color".Behindwoods, in particular, praised his work, citing that Dharan had "enjoyed his work and threatened [the audience] continuously with his music", further adding that he had understood his role "perfectly well" and "delivered the goods with a sharp flourish". The film, despite garnering favourable reviews, performed poorly at the box office. Only 2009, his next album, the soundtrack to the gangster film Laadam, released, which was based on Hip-hop music, featuring Malaysian rappers Dr. Burn and Emcee Jezz. The film, directed by Prabu Solomon, also bombed at the box office, failing to propel his career.
Kalyanam is a non-governmental and non profit making organization based in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Kalyanam was established in 1988 by Mr. Tribhuvan Nath Tripathi. The organization supports the education of under privileged kids.
After Mr. Tripathi's death in a car accident in May 1995, Kalyanam's activities remained subdued until it was revived again in 2008.
Kalyanam believes that the future of the country depends upon the future of the children, and the future of the children depend upon the proper education. Poverty is not only related to hunger or homelessness, it also relates to the consequences of being uneducated thus making the children incapable of coping with the problems of life and improving their social and financial status . Kalyanam emphasizes education as a remedy.
