First Lady Melania Trump will appear in the February issue of Vanity Fair Mexico, and "Late Night" host Seth Meyers is so very confused.
"[W]hat really got people's attention was the cover photo," Meyers opened, zooming in on the image of the first lady twirling a jewel necklace on a plate like spaghetti.
"Ok, now, what the hell is going on with that fork there?" he exclaimed. "Raises a lot of questions, doesn't it?"
"First off, is she going to eat those diamonds?" Meyers asked incredulously. "Donald, are you not feeding her? Or in the Trump household, are diamonds food?"
Meyers also took aim at Melania's diamond-studded dress.Â
"Since she's also wearing jewelry, does she think she's wearing snacks? Is someone who eats diamonds while wearing diamonds the same as someone who eats Doritos while wearing Doritos?"
Meyers wondered if Trump was happy to see his wife on the cover of Vanity Fair or if he was "mad because they put his quote in Spanish."
Trump's tumultuous relationship with the publication stems from a recent review of Trump Grill in which it was called the "worst restaurant in America." Vanity Fair also did not shy away from publishing a story on Trump's sexual accusers in October.Â
"One last thing," Meyers noted. "Isn't it weird that this isn't that shocking? That it's not even the most bizarre thing we've seen this week? Marie Antoinette said 'let them eat cake' and there was a f*cking revolution. Meanwhile Melania's eating diamonds and we're all like, eh, could be worse."
