EXCLUSIVE 'The diva demands are off the scale': Jonathan Cheban sends Celebs Go Dating producers into a spin as he insists on private jets to NYC and a five-star hotel suite

As Kim Kardashian's best friend, he has certainly become well accustomed to the high life and is no stranger to experiencing first-class luxury as he jet-sets around the globe.

But Jonathan Cheban's 'off the scale diva demands' are now said to have sent the production team on his latest reality show, Celebs Go Dating, into a spin as they try desperately to keep him satisfied.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 42, has insisted on 'the best suite going' at London's exclusive, five-star Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge during his stint in the capital as he films the E4 celebrity romance series.

And the TV personality is even insisting on having a private jet take him back to New York City for a three-day break because he's 'homesick' and misses best friend Kim Kardashian and his family.

A source told MailOnline: 'Jonathan’s diva demands have been off the scale. Production have been pulling their hair out trying to keep him satisfied.

'He’s become accustomed to a certain standard of living and has already kicked off about his accommodation while he’s filming the show.

'He wants to stay at the Mandarin Oriental in the best suite going. He’s demanded a private jet to fly him home to New York for three days because he’s homesick and misses Kim, his friends and his family.

'They just don’t know what to do with him to keep him happy!'

Jonathan is enjoying an extended stay in London while he films the second series of Celebs Go Dating alongside the likes of Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter, ex- TOWIE star Ferne McCann, Ex On The Beach's Stephen Bear and Diversity’s Perri Kiely.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Jonathan Cheban and Lime Pictures for comment.  

Earlier this month, the Celebrity Big Brother star was said to be eyeing a permanent base in the capital and was looking to add to his extensive property portfolio by purchasing a £16million pad near luxury department store Harrods.

A source told MailOnline: 'He needs to be within 250 metres of Harrods for his weekly shopping sprees - he has spent thousands in the store while he's been in London.'

'He is keen to move here for six months of the year and will split the remainder of his time in New York and Los Angeles when filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians.'

And whilst it may be a pricey new investment, the source claimed that between his various business investments, the launch of his FoodGod website and his various KUWTK appearances, the reality star is well-heeled enough to make the purchase. 

The insider added: 'Jonathan is in trouble for not returning for filming, but he will not leave London until he has found his dream home.'

The news come after the star infuriated best friend Kim by taking part in Celebs Go Dating and then had a heated argument with KUWTK producers and 'momager' Kris Jenner for refusing to return to California.

A source told MailOnline: 'Kris and the show's producers have kicked off because Jonathan has refused to fly back to Los Angeles, as well as missing Kim's big Dubai trip.' 

'Jonathan staying in London really throws Keeping Up With The Kardashians production into a spin because they need continuity throughout the show.

'They went him to go back to LA, but he's in London filming a couple of TV shows and is refusing to budge.'  

In December, Jonathan jetted to the UK amid reports he had become the subject of a reality show bidding war between Celebrity Big Brother and Celebs Go Dating.

But his decision to opt for the latter didn't sit well with his friend Kim, 36, who was reportedly 'far from impressed'.

A source exclusively told MailOnline earlier this month that the mother-of-two wants Jonathan to date girls of a 'certain standard' - and would prefer to set him up with someone in the States.

An insider said: 'Kim is far from impressed - she had been looking forward to seeing Jonathan at her Mum's annual Christmas party but he didn't want the confrontation so he skipped the party to go to Miami. 

'Kim has been quite clear that she isn't impressed that he is doing the programme, although she would love nothing more than for her friend to be settled and happy in a relationship.

'The Kardashian clan and all their friends always attend without fail Kris' Christmas event, however Jonathan wanted to avoid a fall out with Kim so stayed away.'

The source added that Kim feels she can hook Jonathan up with someone more 'suitable' and has her eye on a girl in America.

Kim and Jonathan's friendship has been well-documented on the family's E! show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

And the reality star has become close to all of the gang over the years, in particular Kim's 'momager' mother, Kris Jenner, 61.

In 2014, he told MailOnline: 'We’re all very close, I sometimes feel like another member of the family. Kris is so smart, she helps me focus and gives me advice.'
