Latest update: the G19 will be integrated over the next 2 years to replace the SIG's. The SIGs will be around another 2 years in some capacity as each Team goes through a work up and receives extensive training with the G19 vs the P226 prior to deploying with it.
Which makes perfect sense.
When asked about delivery we have been told to "stand by."
WTBS there are a lot of interesting things coming down the pipeline and a lot of things going away because they just don't provide much relevance; or said items perform poorly in the field.

This long weekend's Friday night was considered a relatively quiet night in the Sydney CBD with only the sporadic assault, overdose and personal trauma - all believed to be contributed to alcohol.
At 3.00am, a senior paramedic who was patrolling the CBD came across a male who was wandering in traffic on George St in Haymarket.
Moments later the paramedic called for urgent police assistance after he witnessed the male assault a passer-by.
NSW Police detectives were the closest unit that responded. The police and paramedic attempted to reason with the male, however it was clear he was not in control of his thoughts or actions.
Dr Gordian Fulde and his emergency medical team from St Vincent's hospital know all too well the effects and results from overdoing it on alcohol and illicit drugs.
Unless you are out on the streets in the right place and at the right time, it's rare that the public see what really happens on a nightly basis.
The weekend only adds fuel to the fire when the rise in assaults and alcohol intake is at its peak.
Over the past years, NSW Government have implemented changes in legislation to lessen the occurrence of these types of incidents, but hard working and exhausted police have been and will continue to battle this problem.
What is also of great concern, paramedics are falling into the firing line with assaults on them on the increase. (Read recent article on paramedic assaults)
Two camera crews from the ABC were on a special assignment with the paramedics, they were lucky to escape an attack by this male as he rushed towards them.
Statistics held by the NSW Police don't show the interactions and cases that Police and Paramedics are able to diffuse without arrest or transportation.
NSW tax payers are footing the bill for our already overstretched emergency resources. With no real "quick fix" to the problem, alcohol and drug fuelled violence will continue across the streets of Sydney's CBD and outer suburbs.

On the 26th Feb 2013, Four Corners (ABC) produced a story on the true effects of alcohol. FreeNews highly recommends it is watched from start to finish.

New South Wales
New South Wales (abbreviated as NSW) is a state on the east coast of Australia. It borders Queensland to the north, Victoria to the south, South Australia to the west, the Tasman Sea to the east and surrounds the whole of the Australian Capital Territory. New South Wales' capital city is Sydney, which is also the nation's most populous city. New South Wales Police Force
The New South Wales Police Force (NSW Police Force; previously the New South Wales Police Service and New South Wales Police) is the primary law enforcement agency of the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is a servant of the Crown, independent of Government, although A minister of the Crown has administration. Divided into seventy six local area commands (LAC), the NSW Police Force consists of more than 500 local police stations and covers an area of 801,600 square kilometres in a state of some seven million people.
Under the Police Regulation Act, 1862 (NSW), the organisation of the NSW Police Force was formally established in 1862 with the unification of all existing independent police units in the state. The authority and responsibility of the entire police force was given to the inspector general of police.
The 1990s were a turbulent period in NSW police history. The Royal Commission into the New South Wales Police Service was held between 1995 and 1997. The Royal Commission uncovered hundreds of instances of bribery, money laundering, drug trafficking, and falsifying of evidence by police. The police commissioner, Tony Lauer, resigned as the level of corruption in the service became clear and his own position untenable. Peter James Ryan was recruited from the UK. Wide-ranging reforms occurred as a result of the recommendations of the Royal Commission, including the establishment of a permanent Police Integrity Commission.

Sydney

NOTICE: Harsh & explicit language contained in video This long weekend's Friday night was considered a relatively quiet night in the Sydney CBD with only the sporadic assault, overdose and personal trauma - all believed to be contributed to alcohol. At 3.00am, a senior paramedic who was patrolling the CBD came across a male who was wandering in traffic on George St in Haymarket. Moments later the paramedic called for urgent police assistance after he witnessed the male assault a passer-by. NSW Police detectives were the closest unit that responded. WTBS there are a lot of interesting things coming down the pipeline and a lot of things going away because they just don't provide much relevance; or said items perform poorly in the field.

Moments later the paramedic called for urgent police assistance after he witnessed the male assault a passer-by.
NSW Police detectives were the closest unit that responded. The police and paramedic attempted to reason with the male, however it was clear he was not in control of his thoughts or actions.
Dr Gordian Fulde and his emergency medical team from St Vincent's hospital know all too well the effects and results from overdoing it on alcohol and illicit drugs.
Unless you are out on the streets in the right place and at the right time, it's rare that the public see what really happens on a nightly basis.
The weekend only adds fuel to the fire when the rise in assaults and alcohol intake is at its peak.
Over the past years, NSW Government have implemented changes in legislation to lessen the occurrence of these types of incidents, but hard working and exhausted police have been and will continue to battle this problem.
What is also of great concern, paramedics are falling into the firing line with assaults on them on the increase. (Read recent article on paramedic assaults)
Two camera crews from the ABC were on a special assignment with the paramedics, they were lucky to escape an attack by this male as he rushed towards them.
Statistics held by the NSW Police don't show the interactions and cases that Police and Paramedics are able to diffuse without arrest or transportation.
NSW tax payers are footing the bill for our already overstretched emergency resources. With no real "quick fix" to the problem, alcohol and drug fuelled violence will continue across the streets of Sydney's CBD and outer suburbs.
