  • The brides on episode three of MAFS on Wednesday had bad luck on the big day
  • Vanessa lost one of her earrings before finding out her limo had broken down
  • She was very late to the ceremony and her groom was left waiting for a long time
  • After a slow connection, the second bride Alene was trying to be optimistic
  • But half way through the reception she dropped her ring in the toilet bowl

When it comes to Married At First Sight Australia, regular viewers know that the weddings rarely go to plan.

And after the first two episodes aired, it was clear that this season was going to be no different.

On Wednesday night, couples Andy and Vanessa and Alene and Simon met each other at the altar - and neither wedding went off without a hitch.

Early in the episode, 31-year-old Vanessa admitted she was nervous and as she tried on her dress, started to doubt the entire process.

'I am feeling a bit overwhelmed... I am really thinking about whether it's something I want to go through with,' Vanessa said during a 'freak out moment.'

'It's a lot right now, it's completely nerve wracking.'

And after finally overcoming those initial nerves, the outgoing nutrition student was hit with more unfortunate obstacles on her wedding day.

Vanessa was sent into a frenzy when she lost her second earring and was frantically searching her hotel room with her bridesmaid (pictured)

Minutes later, their stretch limousine was seen parked out the front after breaking down with a 'bang' shortly before arriving at the hotel

As Vanessa and her bridal party remained stranded, her groom to be was waiting awkwardly at the venue for his bride

Despite this, everything later came together and the pair seemed to hit it off... despite 30-year-old Andy being a little shyer than Vanessa had hoped

The couple shared a kiss and agreed that their sexual chemistry was most certainly there

But Vanessa and Andy weren't the only ones to face some sticky situations on their wedding day

After struggling to find a physical connection with her groom Simon at the ceremony, Alene decided to remain open minded and see where the night took them.

But half way through the reception, Alene accidentally dropped her wedding ring in the toilet.

The embarrassed bride was heard cursing and yelling out to her friend Amanda from the cubicle.

Sticking to her maid of honour role Amanda soon had the situation under control and fished out the ring for her bride bestie

Overall, regardless of the awkward moments and unfortunate obstacles, both couples ended the day hopeful and optimistic about the future

'I was lifting up my skirt and it got tangled... I need a fork,' she said.

'Is that bad energy?' Amanda said.

But will they last? Only time will tell.
