DIY Grundtal fabric sling bookcase

fabric sling

Materials: GRUNDTAL †owel rack

A fabric sling bookcase can be made by using a 2 rail IKEA GRUNDTAL towel rail.

Sew two pieces of fabric together (or use fabric glue) so you get a square shape, then at opposite ends create a pocket that is big enough to fit your two rails and you’re done!

Does this come in a double or longer length ?

  2. Jo Lewis says:

These work well too for books – painted with a few wooden letters stuck on

  3. I’m thinking… Switch cloth to hardier canvas and loop another length to drill into wall behind brackets… Get 2 compartments stead of 1?

  4. I use those towel rails for bottles of wine in the kitchen… :-)

  5. Thanks for sharing! I also explain how it’s made on my DIY page http://www.facebook.com/grillodesigns xx
